Re: A Big Thank-You to Virtrium.

    Hear hear!

Some time ago, 'twas pontificated that few things could suffocate hope more thoroughly than apathy and silence, such as was seen during the reign of EI. Gladly, it would appear that...

Re: Developer Discussion: Big Changes in Delta 120

This tangent concerning the Helian and Lunus factions seems to have run a bit astray, and as well is no longer on topic for this thread, which is intended for discussion of the latest Delta. Though...

I too would like to know how these changes will affect partially completed structures. My hunch is that if more units have been applied then are needed with the new requirements, then we'll just...

Re: Developer Discussion: Big Changes in Delta 120

The immediate downside to this is that dragons would then become locked into a particular fighting style, either spellcasting or melee, or be very inefficient in the opposite style.

    Suggestions...
  5. Re: Why can I do comps, if they not used anywhere?

I've done this more times than I'd care to admit. Never did understand why so many portals link to themselves. Well, probably because it was easier than creating a different destination...

Re: Developer Discussion: Big Changes in Delta 120

This latest delta seems to be chock full of improvements, and I certainly don't seem to be alone in hoping it clears testing swiftly, the sooner to reach the live servers. More than anything else, I...

Re: Now that we are developing the game again....

I agree with this, insofar as the leveled crafting tasks need some re-thinking. While I understand the idea behind increasing the challenge commensurate with growing skill in ones' trade and greater...

I would add to that list Coherency (whether the idea is being expressed in an understandable way or simply devolves into babble) and Consistency (is the same logical idea being expressed throughout,...
  9. Re: Anyone know how to recover files from an old windows installation

Creme - The first method, as Chaldor has outlined, should work for you but needs a little elaboration.

    1. Log in with an account that has administrative rights (the default Administrator account...

Re: Strange charge on my checking account!

Just to add to the masses, I have the same $0.99 charge on the account I use to pay for my Horizons subscription. It appeared on 8 / 7 / 2007, completely separate from the usual monthly charge....

    Re: Security and Forums Updates

I receive the same 'access denied' type message when attempting to look at that profile.

Also the newest member's profile, Morannuagow, has the same problem. This could be a new security feature...

    Re: Plots and Lairs

It might also be prudent, given the low server populations, to make a distinction between developed and undeveloped (or scarcely developed, as in no complete structures) plots and lairs. It might be...

Re: It's like that one season of "Dallas"

Hmm..approximately 4 weeks lost. In fact the last post time indicates it was around June 20th, which would make a certain sense if a weekly backup of the forum database was scheduled for around the...

My apologies for bringing up an old issue, though this thread has not been dead for too long, but has there been even an inkling on whether 'League of Historians' or other plans for Horizons are...

Re: Internet Explorer of Pain VII

Wireshark eh? I'll have to give that a looksee. I usually just launch TCPView and Process Explorer (Sysinternals Tools) when I want a quick overview of what processes and ports are doing.

    Re: Iron Fitting Needed!

Be glad to help, though I'm not sure my dragon's current crafting skill (28) would be of much use at the moment. I'm on many evenings and weekends, so I'll try joining the channel and seeing what's...

The largest hurdle, with regards to gaming on Vista, seems to be the drivers or general lack thereof. Try checking the website of the builder of your system (Dell, HP, IBM, etc) for any new drivers...

    Re: Cant Launch Game

Let's start with the basic questions:

What version of Windows are you running?
What version of Internet Explorer is installed? (likely 6 or 7)

You have probably already tried this, but take a...
