In the early days we had impact sounds when we hit a monster, butaround the release of the satyrs they suddenly dissapeared.
I'd like to know if this is a bug or if the sounds were removed intentionally.

There are some known issues with the sound system in the game especially with ambient sounds.
They just fixed the bug that prevent the craft music from randomizing, so they are working on the sound system.

it is possible the impact sounds are skipped. the sound system only allows for 5 sounds to be played at one time. so if there is a lot of action going on around you it might not have had priority or was skipped due to the fact that say 6 or 7 sounds were trying to get played.
Skipped, as in removed from the game/no longer used? If so, any chance they will be re-implemented?
By impact sounds I mean melee combat sounds, like "punch" sounds when beating on a monster (or "slash" sounds if you happen to use a sword). "Swoosh" sound when missing. "Klang" sound when parrying etc etc. All those sounds are in the combat sound catalogue, but I havent heard them for ages. All the ability sounds still play in combat, like critical strike, whirlwind and so on.

Rebump - I remember more sounds in the beginning too. Bring them back!! Or at least an explanation and a promised time track?

I miss the old sounds too. Now you can go deaf on combat music but turn that off and, if you get lucky, you hear a barely audible sound effect. I miss weapon sounds and claws impacting with prey. Mostly all I ever hear is the wounded eagle screaching dragons do. [:P]
But I do enjoy the repaired random crafting music. That is a good thing.
Oh.. and the sound in the blizzard storm east of Mahagra is verybuggy as well. If you go into combat there your combat music stays stuck for a long time after the battle is long over. Barely audible under the way too deafening storm sound effect.. but stuck nonetheless.
Nice to see so many who want those sounds back :)

yes. We wanna hear meaty thunks when we whack things.
As a dragon, almost all my attacks are silent when they hit (except for prime bolt, my spells have no sound effects either)

Is combat lag such where players have to minimize both video and audio effects during combat? How rich of an immersion is that?

Dragon spells are a separate problem. Except for prime bolt/improved prime bolt ALL dragon spells STILL use amateurish placeholder graphics and have never had sound effects.Originally Posted by Jaraiden

Did you know that dragon abilities Bite, Tailwhip and Galewind all have soundeffects? I have never heard any of them ingame. [:S]

Just wondering if this bug has been fixed yet? I'm considering buying the game and the missing combat sound effectsare the reason i did not continue playing after my 14 day trial over a year ago.
