Problems concerning .NET Framework

I've successfully made my account but have this recurring problem with starting the game... everytime I click "Play Horizons" a message saying that it "failed to initialise .NET Control". I'm pretty sure it means I don't have the program installed, but the Microsoft updates pages are down. Help?

As you can see by "today's posts" i have had a few problems myself. I always uncheck the .NET patcher before pressing play. Don't know if this will help you but worth a try?

Nevermind, its working now! For the record, .NET framework 1.1 and 2.0 can be on the computer together : if this problem ever occurs for anyone else, go into the tools menu and allow popups. Then uncheck .NET and it should work.
