(POSSIBLE SPOILERS)
Didn't see a thread for this, so I started one.
Saw it last night. I admit that I can be easily amused, however if I go into a movie expecting something awesome I'll be extremely critical.
However, I did not go to this movie with insane expectations. As I'm more of a guy then I need to be (<--- girl, and normally I would have worded this differently) I went for the guns, the cars, the guns on cars, and the hot chicks in cars.
Blood, gore, violence, and language were just the bonuses.
I gotta say the layout of the track reminded me of some of those Nintendo racing games you see. Where you have to drive your car over something to get whatever it's offering (speed, weapon, protection, trap for trailing racer). So when those elements appeared in the movie, part of me grimaced while the gamer in me did a little dance.
Overall, I liked the movie. I watched it the entire time (unlike Dragon Wars) I had several instances of mental squeals of delight (eeee!!) and the car buff/mechanic in me had a wonderful time deciding what cars where what under all the paint, added armor/details, and guns.
Go see it if you like the cars, guns, and women. If you're looking for something that's got a bit more in the way of plot/character development/acting, you might want to look for something else or you'll walk away slightly disappointed.
(Note: I do have one serious complaint, but it's really not related to the movie. When and where I went, there ended up being more CHILDREN in this r-rated movie than there were adults. One couple brought in five kids, and some dude brought in his infant. Not only was the movie violent and bloody, and language was a bit of an issue (hello, prison), but there was a trailer for an upcoming zombie movie called Quarantine, shot in the fashion of Cloverfield/Blaire Witch. I hope they have to deal with nightmares for the next week.)
