Thread: lair room guide?

  1. #1

    Default lair room guide?

ok, got my first lair and am having trouble with it. I was wondering if there is a guide of room sizes and what they do.

also, is there any way to place rooms, then interconnect them with corridors? it's a bit annoying to find out something doesn't fit and have to destroy all the way back to start again.

The closest thing to a lair guide that I know of would be this: http://community.istaria.com/forum/s...t=lair+storage

As for planning, there isn't a way to plan a room then connect it to everything else, but you can plan way ahead so you don't have to build/destroy when something doesn't work out.

Here is the Excel file Tympest originally made and I modified for having some useful calculators. I hope it's what you seek.

As for what rooms do, well, it follows some regular paths:
silo = storage 1 bulk, varying capacity
hall = storage varying bulk, varying capacity, shrine bind point
lair = storage varying bulk, varying capacity
craft caves = similar to craft halls of bipeds (stone, metal, essence, gems, azulyte, cauldron)
consigner/pawnbroker/vault/shrine/library = exactly what their names state
corridors/bends/3-ways/4-ways/slopes = straight line pathing, corners, Ts and, of course, 4 ways. Slopes go down one level.
spirals and spiral reverses = curves (open or closed corridors) that go between two levels
murals = caps for when a connecting point is not used (either for edge of lair or for spaces where pieces do not connect to each other)
