It's doing the DNS-server thing yet again, even though it's already been up several times for short periods. It takes FOREVER to come back up. And it's an event day and I'm going to miss it while everyone else doesn't!

If your ISP's nameserver is having trouble, you can try using someone else's nameserver. (you can specify a nameserver in tcp/ip settings)

Here's a couple that are public:
198.202.75.26
132.249.20.25

The DWMSI and some of the general population are going to be doing fun things and I won't be able to join in. (And it probably won't be up again until tomorrow afternoon. It's taking FOREVER and I don't know why. ;_; )




Oh, yes, if this matters, it went down right after we had to reboot the router because the other computers were having bad connection. Rebooted the router again and it didn't help, rebooted the computer and it didn't help, repaired the connection and that didn't help either.

Edit:@Steelclaw: Was doing it wrong. Going to see if the right way works now.

Some ISPs block outbound DNS traffic, forcing their users to use their DNS servers. That may be your case. Those two servers respond to requests from any IP on the internet.

Alternatively, you can create an entry in your hosts file:

208.43.152.176 www.valenth.com valenth.com
(I'll leave it up to you to figure out how to do that)

note: You can't just plug the IP address into your web browser and expect to get the valenth site since the server uses name-based virtual hosts.
