micrsaft .net framwork cant play

Help i cant get back on the game i get this window pop up when i go to try to play Doc1.doc



dont know what to do i restarted me cp : ( and i'm not on blight : ( ...

I'm having a similar problem.
I took a leap into the Rift, my game froze, and suddenly I can not get back in. First I was getting a .Net Framework error detailing that a FileNotFound exception was occuring. It couldn't find the patcher. So I decided to reset the patcher and try again (made sure to close the open processes) and still was getting the same error.

In the end, I did a complete reinstall of the game and now it is simply telling me it cannot find SilentPatcher.exe.args in the Horizons folder, even though SilentPatcher.exe is sitting right there. =/ I get the same error wether I try to launch from the website or HorizonsLauncher.exe (which is the main one I use).

Someone toss me a bone here?
I did recently update my .net framework to the latest XP compatible version, but I didn't have any trouble until the game crashed just now.

If you don't see patcher.exe in your game install folder, please download this zip file and extract to your Istaria game install folder:

You should put it in the /horizons folder. Or /istaria if that is what you have it installed in, I think.

You know, I'll have to make a note to do that in the future. X3 I'm just so dang used to forums for all my troubleshooting...

In any case, the new launcher does not seem to be working for me either. Even off a reboot without doing anything else, it claims it can't access launcherprefs.lopt because another process is using it. I have to run off to work now, but if I can't get it working when I get home I'll submit a ticket.

i found that

Redirect the launcher client shortcut from horizonslauncher.exe to launcher.exe - problem fixed.

was true, and i had to keep telling my computer to trust the stuff being launched because it did not have a signature or something or other that the computer was looking for. happily, it's working now! :-)

Yeap - similer problem here on two pcs. Oddly the third PC that I use is running happily. Have tried both old and new launcher and get the same error log - seems to be problem connecting into silent patcher

Did a recovery on hard disk and rerun horizons - now seems to be working OK. Thx for the info anyways.

This kind of works. I can get the game to launch from the website, but not from either of the launchers (still getting the same 'file is in use by another process' error when trying to get to the silent patcher). The article was very helpful though, I can at least play for now until I tackle this thing again.

Read the article and followed the steps for me error, got rid of that error!

Still getting an error involving the SIlent Pather though.... same one as Hrough, while launching from the Launcher.exe and the ste itself.

Just trying to get the game installed on ym laptop too, I can still play on the computer wihtout troubles, but do hope this gets fixed soon! ;D Thats a looot of files I have to download...

::UPDATE::

The Silent Pather error seems to only happen if I try to start blight. Trying to log into my order characters SEEMS to be working for the time being. The files are atleast starting to download, can't say for how long though.

My .NET went through an automatic update today that messed things up for me too, but by unchecking .NET, it worked.

I can't get into the part of the launcher where I'd be able to uncheck .NET. I tried unchecking it through the website, but then I can't launch from there (and the launcher remains broken, hrm).

I checked the contents of the zip file and didn't see patcher.exe in it.

i installed that root. "some thing " had put all the files in the hr folerd and it wroks grat now heh got to of the same thing but named dertenly .. the off line loging thing one has like the names of the severs and the other doesnt heh . a littel odd but both wrok grat ^^ heh
