I often have people throw them at me.

Fun is fun, but they take up a valuable gift slot. This can make people leave safe area's assuming proper buffs have taken hold to find a useless slot filled with + 8 health.

It isn't so disruptive I'd ever consider filing a ticket for the behavior, but I think I found a reasonable fix.

Can they instead simply work as a normal buff ( similar to enhances or anything else that pops up in hte "normal" effects window)?

I'm sure I'm not the only one who finds them annoying. (not being pelted, if people like ot do that, I don;t mind in hte least) the gift slot being taken over and having to remove it.

It is a small inconvenience, but it is all too common and cannot be stopped as others players are the only ones capable of inflicting said annoyance.

This isn't a rant I don't think. I hope people remain respectful and help keep this thread in suggestions.

Can I have a rear view mirror function? Press (R) to see behind[yes like on some racing games]. It would be invaluable for pulling or backing up truck sized dragons....

One could even write tinkerer quests to make it work, it's gold!

I never found a problem with them, honestly. I keep my gift slots where I can see them so I'm pretty aware of what I have on becuase they're right in my face.

Granted, I use the icon pack so it's really easy to see "SNOWBALL!" instead of bright red, green, blue or purple gifts.

Hmm.. I don't really see much of a use for that gift slot taken up either. Other than "someone has recently thrown a snowball at you. Please review your chat logs to find out who" :P I would also like them to see them take up a normal enhancement slot instead.

as one of 'those' peeps, i would like to apologise for any unwilling participate in vel/mw's game of tossing snowballs at anyone standing in the pad area of brist when i happen to run by.
it never occurred to me that it would be a prob, i was just funnin'....
