Thread: Custom UI's

  1. #1

    Default Custom UI's

    Usually fairly easy to implement...

Could carry the Spirit of Istaria theme forward, or start a new theme...

A competition couldn't hurt, but not necessary; just the instructions on how to do it, and perhaps a place for people to upload.

If this has already been done, can someone please post a link?

There are different UI options available under the video options window.

Those UIs are player-made actually. You'll find that Istaria has more player-made content than a lot of other MMOs. For example, most of the loading tiles you see on game startup are from players, many dragon lair murals are from players, Halloween masks are mostly from players, even some item icons and quests are player-made.

Cool, where do people submit their content?
Aaand where do they go to find out how to go about making new content?

Player-made mods can be found in the Player Customization forum. How one goes about actually getting things put drectly into the actual game, I don't know. I imagine if the devs want to add your content, they'll approach you about it.

As for finding out how to make new content.. there really isn't much in the way of guides. If you have something specific in mind, you might ask if anyone knows how it's done in the Help or Player Customization forum.

As for playermade Banners/ Murals / Masks they have to be according to a specific set of rules to be usefull...
    Read the following page:
    http://docs.google.com/Doc?id=dcv3hb6k_19c9xs4c

Quests can also be playermade and submitted. Read the following page:
    http://community.istaria.com/forum/s...ad.php?t=17887

However submitting a quest or any kind of playermade content is used only if the developers like it and see a use for it. It is not placed ingame just because it is submitted.

nifty, wouldn't mind seeing something official as an avenue to submit content... many others have this in at least some capacity...usually for UI skins

Going to install mappack (sp) 3.5 and see what that does (was kinda surprised about the mouse in-game...)

    What are the best fan-sites?

Maybe a guide to mods etc, with a recommendation, or "must have" for new players/installs?

    Thanks!

Well, there is the wiki at http://istaria.wikia.com/ that's being worked on by various players, and aside from the map pack, I'm not sure what else would be a "must have"
    I just lost the game.
