frequently crashing to desktop

Lately Istaria is getting almost unplayable for me. I'm crashing to desktop almost every 20 - 30 minutes and it is driving me mad.
Bufs get lost, no use to use scrolls cause they get lost too, trying to design a plot is a nightmare. Till now I only crashed very infrequently but now it's way too frequent. Playing is no fun anymore

Yes yes yes!!! Only, instead of crashing to desktop... it locks my computer, forcing a hard restart. This has only happened since the new patches. Am locking on average 2 times a week. After not crashing for a few months.

Are you playing Istaria in windowed mode or full screen?

Windowed. But on my side nothing has changed.

Both my Windows based computers have had quite a few updates in the last few weeks. (That's two different OS's is why I word it like that.)

You may want to check to ensure that your operating system is up to date with any needed patches, drivers are up to date, etc.

Just to see if it helps, try running Istaria full screen. It cuts out an immense amount of lag and many other issues players experience. This seems to help most people.

It all ran fine, no problems what so ever. This behaviour started last week.

Disable patching in the launcher.


This is a good workaround till they fixed it.

this has been a horrible prob on blight since the last patch......last time amon was on blight for gm testing, everyone crashed very often - i had at least 7 before i gave up and i know grodec had several more than that (at least 10 that i remember, prolly more after i gave up....)

I played 2 days in a row, fine, not a problem. Today, I can't get past the Istaria GUI loading.
Also windows xp SP3. New Nvidia Drivers 270.61

Downloaded new client. Cleaned world cache, so far so good. New Nvidia drivers 280.26 for GE force 7800 GS.
