Having troubles getting in
Lately it's been taking 3-4 times of launching the game to get in. Transport errors and "shard is unavailable" are the two errors I get, one right after the other.
I'm pretty sure it's not my anti virus otherwise I wouldn't be able to get in at all let alone get two different error messages. Right?

Do you have noticeable lag (the real kind -- where there's a distinct delay between initiating an action and seeing its result) once you're in game?
The lagwindow (/window lagwindow) may also show random spikes of unack messages. 1-2 is normal, anything higher suggests network issues.
You can get anything you want in life -- just make a lot of noise and bite the right people.

No.
The only times I do is when it is expected: by landing in a pile of mobs before they have loaded.
Once I'm in the game is fine.
