Help!!

How the devil do you get map pack to work, I did something and now It seems I can't log into Istaria. It comes up with an error.

I tried my best to follow the map pack instructions, but they were too confusing to my opinion. And now I've done something wrong or ither I screwed it up, and now it's causing me not to log into Istaria.


Please Help!!!!!!

Try doing a patch, clear world cache and full scan, maybe. Good luck with it.

Well when I loged in to the account thing and choose my characters which of course is my Alph dragon. I't dose all the loading and the scanning, but then it comes up with a black screen that the loading always comes up with, but now it just comes up and disappears.

The error I got which I don't quiet remember, came up with a debug window box and another box with error/ something something then the number 0.
As I said I don't quiet remember what exactly the error said.

Did you do a full scan?
After the log in, at the screen where you can choose your char there is a button - troubleshoot - which has, among others, the option full scan.

Yes I have done the full scan, and still I can't get into Istaria.
I re-in put the maps and themes folder, the error disappeared but I can't get into Istaria still.

Maybe I did screw the map pack up and something else, But I'm not sure.

Alright I can get back on Istaria.
The problem was that I followed the instructions on how to install the map pack, and I accidentally deleted the maps and themes folder. That's why I couldn't get into Istaria.

My question is, how do you get map pack to work?
Yes, I've read the instructions and there confusing.
How is it confusing, well the instructions don't make sense and they don't have a very good description on what to do that's to my opinion.

So could someone or anyone pls help me with installing the map pack.

I had a similar problem as you. I botched something along the way and had to do a re-install of Istaria on one computer, so I learned from my mistakes and did it right on the other. If you've really messed things up or messed around, you may want to back up your UI settings and do a clean re-install first. Here's what I did:

download updated map pack from http://sharpnetwork.net/istaria/mappack.asp
Extract it to wherever you like but remember that location, you'll need some folders from it.
Run Notepad as Administrator, open ClientPrefs_Common.def from C:\Program Files (x86)\Istaria\prefs
change line at the bottom: string mapPath = "resources/interface/maps" to string mapPath = "resources_override/interface/maps"
Save
Go to your extracted Map pack location and copy resources and resources_override folders
Go to your game install location (most likely at):C:\Program Files (x86)\Istaria
Drop those folders in there, you'll get a few merge folder confirmations, etc. After that, it should be good to go.

I followed your instructions.
But it doesn't work. I just tried to log in a few minutes ago, and it comes up with an error. 1 error is the debug window comes up blank, 2 error comes up saying run-time error
Fatal error: couldn't load game constants file"resources\GameConst.def"!:0@.\Source\ClientEr rors.cpp:797
And the exact same thing happens. I can't get into Istaria.

Hmm intresting.

I dunno why I didn't think of it before, but I had two resource folders already, and I had to look in the two resource folders I already had to see if there were some things that I didn't have from the map pack download.

Well I fixed the problem in not getting into Istaria.

Okey Map pack sucks. I doesn't work.
