Thread: Mobile Home

I had a funny thought and wondered just how feasible it might be…

What if I bought a plot next to a tier I resource and built the machines needed while working up my craft skill as well. When it is time to move onto the next tier, I sell the plot back to the community and get 80% of the building resources back.

I then find an empty plot next to the tier II resource and use the old resources to start on some new machines and silos. It may seem like a waist of resources to keep rebuilding, but it wouldn’t be so bad when you live right next door to the resources. As time and resources permit, I could upgrade the machines as I go and increase the size of the plot too.

It would be fun to travel and move around the world of Istaria exploring new communities… at least until I settle in on a permanent place to call home. Is this a crazy idea???

Interesting ideas but sadly not really viable let me give an example.. tier IV obsidian (stone) is found in western dralk, Cobalt (metal) is found in kirasanct, Maple (wood) Just north of sanctuary Bay, Silk (fabric) north eastern Aug.

So sadly you never really get more than two of the resources near you. (And yes I know I never mentioned all the resources or locations but I named the main ones). So sadly you'll always have some running around to do.

Just so you know, you get novians back when you deconstruct buildings to the value of 80%... But as pointed out, ther are no actual locations that have all the resources close by, let alone plots.

You can get a lot of the resources in some areas, however. For t2, Scorpion Island. For T3, they're near Mahagra (Summit specifically) or Aughundell? and T4, most of them are around Dralk! There may be one or two you have to travel for, but you'll be closer to the biggest clusters.

So not as cut and dry easy as I may have thought it would be…

I mean, if I buy a plot in Kion, it will soon be VERY far away from ALL the resources. Moving around from plot to plot seems like it would be a more logical choice. A little extra work to replace the 20% lost with each move, but at least closer to one or two of the resource.

Of course maybe just being a homeless vagabond is the easiest solution of all, lol.

The actual distance to the resources for your plot are really only measured by how far your plot is from a landing pad.

The resources are scattered all over. You load up on maple boards or maple braces for example, the you just use a travel scroll to teleport to your bind, if the resources themselves are a long haul to a teleporter. Then its just a teleport or two and then from that landing pad to your plot.

I would say just find the final plot you really want, and just start building it. With big cargo disks and travel scrolls, what you suggest isn't really necessary.

You may not know what a travel scroll is, but it lets you recall with your cargo disk attached. It's a player crafted item, "Sslanis Travel" is one, that costs 500cp to 2s per, depending on the destination city (it requires a purchased part to be crafted that increases in price the higher tier the destination city is). 30 minute recycle that's 50% shared with different destinations, so just have a stack for 2 different cities, you can scroll-recall once every 15 minutes.

Certain cargo disks can be teleported while attached, while others prevent teleport. So be sure you pick the disk carefully. Tarbash's, Tarbash's Compact, Standish Deluxe, Knuts will teleport. The Standard, Deluxe, and Standish will not teleport. All the Dragon specific disks will teleport.

Oh wow, I had no idea about the travel scrolls! That is wonderful!! Now picking a plot or lair is going to be hard. I havn't seen most of the land yet, lol.
