How to lower FPS in the game

Hi all.

I found out that when i am in game with 60fps i am missing almost all spell feedback. Not the ability feedback, but the spells only.

I tried then to run screencapture to lower my fps, and it went Down to about 30-40 and all the spell feedback are showing.


So my question to you Guys is:

How do i permantly lower my fps in game? I tried this: /setpref maxframerate (40) but istaria dont know that command.

Try just /fps 40, I read somewhere about that. Might be /fps40, not sure if it had a space or not. Will test it out when I get in game.

/fps 40 nothing happends, and with /fps40 i get error, no command is called that

Odd, /fps is supposed to be how it's done. Try /setpref maxframerate 40 without parenthesis, or did that not work at all?

Edit: FPS actually toggles the display of FPS, doesn't set the max. setpref is supposed to let you do that, but.. I can't actually find which pref file it saves it in locally. Makes me wonder if we can no longer set that value.. hm.

Blight was updated today with a patch that should make the action messages show up proper.

A little late but did you try to lock the game to your monitor refresh rate? If you use amd you can use the AMD Catalyst application to force vsync on a per case basis. I also force AntiAliasing to make older games look better

with the newer client i have no problems.

my refresh rate on my monitor is 144hz.

Looking through the preference files, the only one I could find that might work was:

/setpref fpsTarget [#]

I've tried using it...the game takes the setting, but I couldn't tell from the FPS window if it was actually lowering the framerate. Worth a shot though! Or try using your graphics card's force-VSync setting, as others suggested.

[I know this was already "resolved," but the only other threads I could see with these commands referenced settings that seem to not be used anymore...wanted to float this option out there in case anyone needs in the future]

It's possible that you have to relog for the setting to actually take effect.
