connecting accounts

I have my own account and pay for my young niece's account. Now that she's got the minecraft addiction ahe stopped playing Istaria.

So, can I connect her account to mine for an extra plot?

You can cancel the subscription on her account and add another subscription to yours, if you want to. There's no way to transfer subscription time between accounts, as far as I know.

Send in a support ticket http://support.istaria.com . Be sure to include the username for both accounts. Ask that the second subscription (niece's) be transfered to your account. Be sure to mention that you want a 2nd subscription, otherwise they might add the time to your regular account (or you can certainly do that too). If you're unsure of niece's username, add billing info and last 4 of cc for verification.
