New login stuff i cant understand :P

Where did this come up all of a sudden requireing Dotnet Framework 1.1 to be installed, i dont even know what it is. Anyone know where to find it so i can download it and continue playing?

The installer is found on the microsoft website, I did a search on Google for "dotnet framework 1.1". The download is 23.7 mb [:(]

Dot network however you can get from windows update as an optional download.

Look for the .net 1.1 download option.

However the new character login page gives me errors now so its busted or something.

im getting a box that says patch failed as a result of:

1. do i trust digital signed content from tulga games
2. am i an administrator
3. dotnet framework installed


dont know where to go to tell IE that i trust tulga.

where the hell do i look to see if i am an administrator

and dotnet framework is installed.

OK here is how I fixed mine, isntalled dotnetwork, made sure I had admin priveleges, and I was still getting the "Error on page" message.


Went into C:\programfiles\artifactentertainment\horizons\


Deleted the file named launcher

logged into the game as normal and it worked like a charm>

*shrug* I don't know if this was fixed before I logged in just now, or whether I didn't have any problems because I make an effort to keep windows updated (except for the buggy updates). But either way I was able to log in first time with no troubles.

If you want .net 1.1 you have to click the "custom install" on the windows update site. I don't believe that it shows up under express. Or you can do a manual download from microsoft.

I still can't login I was wondering if there are any other things I should try. I did the delete launcher file still no go. Or, am I the only one still unable to log. I'm not getting any errors, just after the updater checkes the files, it goes like it is trying to load but nothing.

Microsoft .NET framework has been a requirment for some months.

The patcher was tested before it hit live as can be seen here however it would seem between the testing and hiting live something happened. Either than or the people who tested it are more savvy than the majority of the users so had little or no problem.

Can you fix it? or are you not savvy either? truth is, AE has had problems from the get go. They dont test, except when it is a convenient excuse for not having content ready (btw, is 3 months late).

Just because your computer patched ok, doesnt mean that you are good, it just means that whatever issue exists, happened not to affect your computer for whatever reason.

People are leaving this POS in droves now. are you happy that you are so clever that it works on your PC? if you are so smart, then share your wisdom on how to fix it with us.

Actually I was just replying to the poster that said "why wasn't it tested first" and speculating is to why they had been able to use it when others couldn't

Have you tried running the caspol.bat as stated in the thread?

Caspol.bat tries to run caspol.exe

caspol.exe does not exist on my machine. guess it should be there, huh?

Why hasn't AE posted a fix for this yet? possibly because they dont have a clue as to what they screwed up.
