Why do I lag so bad?

My comp isnt THAT bad. 768 Ram, Geforce 5200, 1.6ghz
I have almost everything set to low and it still lags
I have latest drivers too
Any help on why its so bad?

drive performance:

Cheap way to get better performance from hz is to install a second drive or raid0 drive setthen install hz on it. Defrag it often, especially after a patch day.

active virus scanners can slow down the game, so can malware/spyware.

nvidia card driver settings can be scaled to a performance mode (default is quality).

in-game sound settings for 3-sounds in software mode will slow you down, disable that or switch to a hardware supported 3d sound in the dropdown.

turn off shadows.

adjust view distance, if needed.


Just a few things you can check, adding a second drive will definitely help.
