Log onto the usual login site, and on the homepage's left side there's a link under called "My Characters". Click that. Then once the new page has loaded, on the top right there's a link called "Delete Characters". Click that. Then you just have to select the char(s) you want to delete, and type in your username/pw and voila.
Remember that once you delete a char, you WILL NOT be able to get anything back for/from them. Be sure to take anything and everything off them before you delete them.

Just a small amendment to this. Be sure the character you are deleting is not joined to any guilds. If the character is currently in a guild then it will refuse deletion to you. So be sure and resign from any guild the character may have been in before attempting to delete it.
