Return of the 15 and 5 minute warning

Yay! I actually got a 15 minute warning, followed by a 5 minute warning 10 minutes later! Thanks for bringing that back! Having a grace period feels better than getting kicked off in a hurry -- "Doom, doom, doom, the end!".

(For those who did not get to experience a shut-down, there is a 15 minute warning, then a 5 minute one, then the final logout notice. For the last [many months], all three warnings came in at once, immediately followed by a disconnect.)

how is it bad news that the warning mesage that the server is shutting down for maintenence actually functions again?

I think he means that it's bad news because it means thet he won't be able to play for several hours.
