The chances of a Unity shard existing is pretty close to zero, character transfer is right on ... also chances are anything stores on plots would be lost as well.

In all honesty, it has a much better chance than you indicated in your post, given they brought blight up. Not to mention the fact that the company over seas that ran unity, says maint is being performed on it every day still.

I thought it was every week...

They put blight back on, so why wouldn't be there a chance that unity also goes live again? And I think the devs know that they would loose more players if they only transfer the chars without their plots/lairs.

Because Unity has no hardware? Blight did

Well that depends on if they make a deal with those that use to run Unity. As said somewhere else I remember seeing a post from the old community manager for the EU stating that the main was still ran once a week.

[QUOTE=Tryagain;155803]whoa little dragon you do realize that this is just a game right ? Puff says make sure you go outside and smell the real flowers once and awhile.

Nice spoken, Tryagain. THX for concern and advice. Seriously!

Nothing wrong with tears of joy, ahh?
This game really means a lot to me. Only THIS game.

I'm glad to hear that Rick, Amon, and Reyem are back on the job. In the article they mentioned outsourcing things like artwork, which probably makes sense. The good news is bugs will start being fixed again like the sound, we might finally get all the new crystals that were being fixed/added.

Dev's, could you make tool sockets applyable to Dragon Claws? Cogs ftw.

That would open up a nasty bi-ped vs. dragon argument (even though I am all for it!!)

Bi-peds get cargo gear, a little here, a little there, but once you get a decent set, you can carry a little more weight. Then the tool crystals for holding came along. Probably to appease the bi-ped community that by the time a dragon reaches level 100, they get a total of 1500 dimensional pocket storage, which I do believe is better than a full set of ironsilk cargo gear.

If Dragons were allowed to add tool slots to claws... they would be able to use the 245 capacity holding crystal which would vault them to 1745, which may not have been intended by the devs in the first place.

Not nesssarily. They could always set the crystal of holding to be race specific and that way dragons wouldn't be able to use it but still use the cogs and other stuff. I mean don't get me wrong I love that crystal of holding and wish I could use it but just stating options.

Welcome back! As I think you can see, we missed you guys a lot! Hopefully, you'll be able to get the game back on track and start rectifying all the mistakes EI made soon. (To all you critics out there, soon does not mean I expect changes now.) You've made a good start so far, with unlocking the forums and bringing blight back up. Keep up the good work!

X-mas seems to come early this year.

The recent events make me a very happy dragon.
Count on a sub from me when the billing is again secure.

    Reinstalling Horizons as I'm typing.

Oh what a joyful day this is.
The glimmer of hope has turned once again into a big ray.

Yay I'm so happy I almost cried when I read that. You guys have my full support
Same here, except for the "almost" word.

What assurances would I have that Virtrium isn't just the latest incarnation of failure?
No assurance, but could it be possible to be worse than EI?

I don't believe we'll ever have proper and real support for the game, but at least now it does not reek of "insured dead end incoming soon".

If in fact the database still exists somewhere.
It does, and it's not imported already for purely agreement (lack of) issues.

Heck, those morons in EI did not even ask / tell Luca anything at all so he and company basically just closed the server due to lack of any communication.

The chances of a Unity shard existing is pretty close to zero, character transfer is right on ... also chances are anything stores on plots would be lost as well
2 weeks ago Unity existed and was up limited to the database server, which is all is needed.
The rest of the hardware etc, I am told about it but I don't feel to disclose it since it's personal communication, unless they feel like to disclose about it by themselves.

About the plots, they made the "novian" system and could use it to let us carry it over.
But just by having my dragon I'd gladly grind 18 gold again and rebuild everything of my huge plots again even if I had no novians.

Interesting news. And definitely good to see some
familiar names back on this project.

I guess my only concern, and one that I haven't found
an answer to in my searches so far, is where is the
necessary capital coming from to ensure the longevity
    of the game?

While I'm happy for the original coders et al, even they
will readily admit it takes more than just intimate knowledge
of the coding to turn this ship around. More importantly,
    it will take m-o-n-e-y.

I was a fixture in Istaria from the beginning. But I don't
feel comfortable rekindling my former love of this world
until and unless I know it is properly capitalized, and not
merely a pet project that will have us all facing server
    shutdowns within a year's time.

I wish you guys the best. But it would be a great confidence
booster for old and new alike, if you addressed the game's
near-term and long-term financial stability. Is there a plan?

    peace.

Ophelea, by any chance, did you know anything about this before the official statement? All I knew was that Reyem was involved with HZ when he replied to one of my support tickets but I thought EI just hired him.
