    ooooh, great mail!

As I mentioned in my last “From the Desk of the Developer” email, we also
have set early 2008 as a goal for bringing characters from the Unity database to our live servers at the request of the account holder.

In order to give these characters a home on our live servers, we will also be restarting plot reclaims from any character that is not tied to an account with at least one active subscription.

    Wow
That would be so awesome! Getting butterflies in my stomach like I'm in love.

    Hurray! Mor
rison is back at his house near Bristugo!
    And the wisps on wis
    p isle are moving again!

    This is great news.

I just returned back into the world with 2 subscriptions.

99.9% of the reason I returned was due to the purchase of the game by people that love this game and the fixing of the billing.

I have every confidence that the game will move forward over the next year.

Hey, at least the devs are talking to the players. That hasn't happened for a few years.

    Let's see...

    • Unity players still waiting to be migrated
    • Vista Issues being worked on still
    • Plot / lair recovery from dead accounts
    • Graphic model updates to reduce lag

Place checkmark next to list when finished
    Justa Mirage: Ranger 100 / Healer 92 / Carpentry 100 / Confectioner 100 / Fletching 92 / Weaver 62 / Gatherer 34
    Flatspin: Ancient Lunus Dragon 100 / Craft 100 / Lairshaping 100

    A very nice letter again.

We all knew (or should have known) that the to-do list items were going to take quite a while; in part that's because although they're the right things (I think) to be tackled, they were not done during the AE/Tulga eras because they are major, foundation items.

Not much glamor or glitz in slowly redoing mega-poly models... no high level (or much of any) content in increasing small plots' sizes or planning reclamation. Where's the thrill in doing the spadework for Vista? Unity's characters finally having a home will be a great moral victory, but will not increase subs by tens of thousands. Tens of hundreds maybe??

What we see is the determination, planning, and (un)common sense to defer gratification in favor of doing what's really needed to secure a solid future for the game. Yeah, we all wish it were faster, but progress it is, and in the right directions. Can't reasonably ask for more, and I think we're very very fortunate to have that.

    So Happy New Year indeed!

fantastic news, and the fact it says early 2008 for the unity transfers is heartening Also sounds like a great year for confectionists, and I have to say that the hint of new areas to explore sounds great. Pev would love somewhere new to fly over when she finally can stretch her wings again!

Another great post, and since it would seem they're going to be regular now, I look forward to the next
    Shadria: Hatchling 22/24/0 - Intorqueo: Hatchling 5/3/0 - Affina: Saris - Pevil: Ancient Lunus 100/100/57 - Zordraak: Hatchling 5/3/0

Promising news. I'm currently on a 14-day trial, enjoying the sights and sounds of Istaria (and also reminincing on old plots, favourite haunts and players). Although I do not intend to renew the trial, when the opporunity arises I will be putting forward my old unity accounts for transfer and continue my time here . Those old characters are the definition of my experience (so are my plot(s), although they can be rebuilt over time).

No matter which other MMORPG I've played since, none have recaptured that feeling I got from playing Horizons.

To the day the Unitarians can return home.

. So, with a little more work, we added support for direct credit card billing through payment processor Auth.NET.

Is this new payment system up and running? I want to drop pay pal like a hot potatoe, so how can I do this and retain the current payment fee that I have?

    it`s up and running,

as I got 4 subs cancelled , and no one from pay pal could help me
    (such an incompetence!!)
I pay via cc again, and it works.

Thx VI for answering my ticket, it was much helpful.
