Kaa the Shade

I've searched through the forums and can't find any answers to this.

Is there any way to get to Kaa the Shade other than having a full 10 person party of 100+ rating adventurers (less the poor hatchie who's being shepherded) as an escort? The spawn down in the spiral is unreal, and there doesn't seem to be any way of bypassing it, and the spawn is dense enough that it seems as though you'd have to slaughter everything on the way to get there intact.

If you do rop at 100 you can solo it, haven't heard of lower levels trying it solo.

It's not hard at all to do it with just the hatchie, and an ancient who flies down into the spiral, and pulls Kaa up to the safe spot where the hatchie awaits.

Just don't try and plow your way through all those mobs, have a flying dragon go find him and pull him up.

That depends largely on whether you're on the path of the Lunus or Helian. As a Lunus, you get your phylactery before killing Kaa -- so you can sneak down there and whack him (it?) right before dying.

Helians have a big more of a problem, since they don't have a phylactery to use yet. You used to be able to hang out at the bottom of the spiral and the mobs would leave you alone. Now they tend to aggro, and aggro in groups. Good luck! Even a lvl 100 hatchling would get flattened. (Mostly because they'd be perma-stunned.)

If Kaa were pulled to a quiet place outside of the spiral, it would be possible to kill him with a group of two, possibly one.

When I did my rop it was just me, an adult, and a dwarf that came along to help protect me frome everything else. The adult pulled him up to the top of the spiral and I one shotted him (I'm Lunus).
The last time I "fought" him was with a Helian hatchling, this time it ended up being an almost full group consisting of me, an ancient the hatchling on that part of her RoP and 3 or 4 other hatchlings who wanted to help. That one didnt go so smooth. The ancient tried pulling him up the spiral but he wouldnt come all the way so the ancient (Im terrible with names) ended up pulling him as far as s/he could and both of us fighting Kaa.

In the end it went horrifically wrong and everyone but the hatchling on the RoP died surprisingly we managed to kill Kaa before we died and she got what she needed. There's also apparently a spot near the top of the spiral where a hatchie can drop down to access some of the lower parts of the spiral. I know that how she managed to loot what ever she needed from Kaa.

I remember a while ago I assisted two lvl 50 hatchies in the kaa hunt. I was lvl 100 adult at that time. The 3 of us managed to kill him easily with no death.

I was 50 and I only had one or two adults helping.

Actually, there IS a way to get around much of the spawn in the spiral. It's a matter of coming in from the east and jumping down levels in the spiral. You can get so far before you'll neeed a flying dragon to hit Kaa at range and drag him back up to where everyone else is.

Most of the ... Scratch that. All of the times I've helped with Kaa, a group will stand just inside the spiral, in one of the spots mobs don't roam, and flight-capable dragon will target Kaa and pull him up out of the spiral.

Typically, this involves landing on something, zapping Kaa, flying off and landing on something else, zapping Kaa again, etc., etc. until you reach the camped group.
