Tech Issue

I made a psot on the tech foum, but have not seen a great deal of activity there. I thought I would ask the general forum if anyone had any idea of a resolution of this problem?

A quick summary is. I am getting a black screen during character creation that forces me to have to reboot. I have DirectX 9.0c, the latest vid and sound drivers.
