Hello, Just looking and considering

I am considering two things right now[;)]

1) Leaving AC forever
2) Joining a new on-line game

From the forums I gather there are lots of helpful people, and a few problems. I was wondering if any of the Lords, Ladies, or members of any other catagories/races could tell me the pros and cons of Horizons? It looks very intersting, even for an aged being such as myself. What is good to start with (Warrior, Mage, etc.). My Lady and I are most interested in a response. So if thee has a moment, it would be appreciated.

Yes, tis sad indeed. Often I would rather be helping othes and questing, but alas, the alternate reality I find myself in often does not allow for that...sigh

Thank Lord Velat,
I belive my lady and I may download the trial this week, and proceed to the realm post haste, and decide from there. I would have this weekend, but my leg was injured ina fight with a monster (or perhaps I twisted it....[:|]) and reqired special care. I hope to be up and running, or walking well, soon.
Thank you again for the warm welcome, even with the snowballs. And to the others who have responed as well. My lady and I will indeed look for you.

A mouthful perhaps, but well earned I am sure. I have been missing of late, injuries and visits with the medicalpractitioners have kept myself & my Lady busy indeed. I will try the download this weekend (or Friday), providing no furthor wounds are aquired fighting evil, destroying beasts, or slipping on rocks in the yard...errr...wilderness realm. [:$]

Packed Snowball-- ^_^ a good smack! when they hit!

But actually, Packed Snowballs are made from the Snowball formula. Regular snowballs can also be made, but they drop from frosty monsters too. I make Packed Snowballs now and again, with water from golems, rock salt, and essence (if I'm remembering the recipe properly). They splat just as nice as the regular Snowballs but they grant more health. +12 or soif I recall correctly.

Beware of Dragon-sized Packed Snowballs!! [:D] And greetings and welcome, Malakeem!!

Hello and well met again,
Well, I have DL the trial, and installed w/o trouble. I seem to unable to connect to the server, error stating it is "down". So my twofold question is, is this common, and am I correct in thinking this is a problem on the "game side" and not a problem with my system? [:S]
I am looking forward to getting on (I have chosen the initial name of Malsquirm, a character from my DnD days (which are still active I might add...), and meeting other players as soon as I am able. The response here has been very friendly, and I am sure I will need much help and direction. I am trying to get on the Order server. [:|]
Any comments or help would be appreciated by both myself and m'Lady.

Odd that it's down this morning. Usually, they're only down if there's maintenance or a serious problem. Also, this would be on the game side during those. Otherwise, it may be you have a firewall or antivirus program active that's blocking the actual connection. Sometimes this happens and you have to adjust the firewall or antivirus appropriately to allow Horizons to run (or shut them off entirely, depending on choice).

Yes, I shut down all the FW & AntiV programs. I have not made another attempt to get on yet, we shall see.

I'm not an adventurer. In my 600+ days of being on Horizons, I've made Warrior 20. No other adventuring class.
