There have been many here that have advertised their own "graphics" for the hotkey bar to replace the game ones, but once patch day comes, unless you fix it with an entry to the exceptions list, they get overwritten sometimes.

As for the notify sound, I haven't really looked into the resources directory, but I am pretty sure you can replace the wave file with one of your choice. I am at work or I would tell you which one to replace for the notify.

I have been working on serval color themes for the UI and mine are setup so that they do not go away or have to be reinstalled after patches.

And putting an entry in the exceptions list DOES NOT work as that file gets redownloaded every time it patches the game.

the chime notify volume is controlled by the music volume slider and not the sound effects one.

Yeah, but then the music is just louder too...I don't want that...just want to increase the volume of the chime...so I can hear it.

Basically, instead of installing the theme to the Horizons\Resources folder, you install it to Horizons\resources_override\Resources

Do I need to make a new folder or change the name of the Horizons\Resources folder?

I have a dark red one (screenshots in the Technical > Customization Forum), a green and a dark green one complete. Working on a blue, purple, and a black/red one.

Still looking into a web host for them for easier download. Just been mailing them to people so far.

the file that needs to be chnaged is
    Horizons\Resources\sound\ui\notify.wav

put whatever file you want to replace it with in
Horizons\resources_override\Resources\sound\ui and name it notify.wav and it should work for you.

DO NOT change the name of Horizons\Resources folder.

Make a new subfolder in the existing resources_override folder

np. You don't learn if you don't ask question.

You might want to check out the Player Customization form. That's where most of the mods are discussed.

Just another hint on sounds. Say you like the chime as it is but want it louder without all the rest of the world being louder, you can do it by modifying the notify.wav file itself. For that you'll need a music editing/mixing program. Open the .wav in it, then start tweaking the intensity/volume.You'll likely want to save this outside the Horizons folder as well as where it is originally, so that if it does get wiped out from a patch, you can copy your modded file back into the folder and not lose it.

Just tried it out. Changes to notify.wav have to be done directly to the file either by editing or replacing. resources_override folder will not workfor this file.

You can turn up the sound of the tell chime in game. I mean separatly without turning up the rest of the sounds. Heh, or at least you used to be able to. Should be able to go into auctions but I don't remember which tab.

I already have that volume all the way up and I still don't think it is that noticeable.
