nicely done, zexoin! you get to post the next question :-)

i have to add that before the country was renamed, it was upper volta. i was told that back then the answer was "ouagadougou est au haut volta" (that was later corrected by the french teacher who said countries are referred to in the feminine form - "ouagadougou est a l'haut volta"). it made for a fun chant...

    ou est ouagadougou?
    ou est ouagadougou?
    oui, ou est ouagadougou?
    ouagadougou est au haut volta.
    ouagadougou est au haut volta?
oui, ouagadougou est au haut volta!

Were any of the answers to the question about anura accepted as correct?

come to think of it, though they got that anura means no tail, it may have meant something else in ancient greek... my guess would be gelded, like a horse or eunuch.

Jan. 7 and Dec. 25 are both Christmas. How and why is this possible?

I believe the answer to that question is because the Christians celebrate Christmas on the 25th of December and the Ortherdox (Spelling)
celebrate Christmas on the 7th. So that means when Santa was tracked by Norad over Russia it was for sight seeing only as most of the population is Ortherdox.

Yes, I think Aladar has it right. The western branches of Christianity (Roman-Catholic and the Lutheranians) took the 24/25 as birthday of ************ (maybe because they had more cause to compete with the celtic midwinter celebration at roughly the same date) and the eastern Christians chose the 6th/7th of January. At that date many Western Christians celebrate the ritual of the Wise men from the East, so that date is a day for celebration as well.
