Available Taverns on Order Shard

With the changes coming to the Death Count and Taverns I thought it would be very handy to have a list of taverns and where they are located.

From the Review of the upcoming changes in the Confectioners School (link to full article http://community.istaria.com/news/?id=103 ):

Q: How much will Taverns increase the effectiveness of food?
A: Taverns will double the effectiveness of food. This helps ensure that eating food in a tavern is far more effective than eating it outside of one, such as in the wild.

- How Dishes are Eaten -
First off, food must be eaten while the player is sitting. If the player is not sitting, then they will not be able to eat. Also, actually consuming the food takes a short amount of time, anywhere from 30 seconds to 1 minute. The actual duration of consuming the food will be relational to the amount of DPTR the dish has.

The player can make and/or buy several of the same dish, but they will not be able to eat the same dish over and over. When consuming a dish, it starts two timers. The first timer counts down how long the player will have to wait to be able to eat that same exact dish again. This is a long timer, set to about 20 minutes. There is also a short timer that is set which dictates how long before the player is able to consume any other dish of the same type.

A full meal would consist of 1 Appetizer, 1 Main Course, 1 Side Dish, and 1 Dessert.

Since eating a meal in a Tavern doubles the effectiveness of food, if a player eats two full meals in a Tavern, they will remove 1 full Death Point of the same Tier as the meals.

• Name of the Plot (if any)
• Owner of the Plot (if any, will list a built tavern even if the plot is for sale)
• Is it open to the Public? (Private taverns most likely will still give the benefit, you just won't be allowed to purchase food there)
• Is it built? (will list an unbuilt tavern if the plot is owned)
• Map coordinates to the front door of the tavern. General directions of where the tavern is at on the plot.

Empire Taverns

To find the Islands of Battle, climb the spiral mountain to the northeast of Dalimond (near the bridge on the way to Tazoon). At the top of the mountain you will find a Gatekeeper & a Gate to the Islands of Battle. (It cost me 1 silver 100 copper to go to the islands)
This tavern maybe a forerunner of what taverns will be like in the near future. It has both a Tavernkeeper and a Vaultkeeper (although the Vaultkeeper may be a special insert), tables, benches, stools, a fireplace with a pot, a stack of barrels, its own music, and a spell effect called Tavern Atmosphere.
Tavern Atmosphere modifies food effects by 200% and its Duration is 15 seconds.

My large tavern in Last Stand will be open to the public once completed, and the expert confection shop should help me keep it stocked ;). Gathering for the transmutation process is a long task, however, even at my gathering/ mininglevels, so it will be a while before it is complete.

I do see a post that Fiko likes to transmute..that may speed the process along.

And I'll add that the Oasis on the Beach tavern in Parsinia also sports a nice patio in the back, sunning rocks, a small stone house to relax on the balcony, and other such pleasent amenities...

Not to mention the occasional gathering or party hosted. ;)

Deth - It seems that tavern that was talked about in the general forum is an Empire owned tavern by the PvP arena. I plan to take a moment in the near future and find out how to get to that area so I can get information about that tavern and add it to the list. [:)]

Allon - Thanks for taking a moment and describing the atmosphere of your tavern! Your's is one of the oldest taverns continueously in one spot.

admantium sheeting is complete on the large tavern in Last Stand...moving on to Travertine before I work more transmutation. Anyone who wants to haul slabs from the travertine fields South of Morning Light back to Last Stand is more than welcome (or even donate tainted shining orbs! )

(note that the expert confection shop, and the expert alchemy shop on the plot next door are being worked simultaneuosly with the tavern construction)

Hmmmm...what types of food to stock...that's a toughie. Most likely not Tier I (unless you have a lot of young folk living in your area) Nellie has been stocking Carmo's tavern with 5 & 6 min. Tier II food (because that's what she can cook at this time) & Roasted Pumpkin Seeds; Selen's tavern seems to have a random mix; and Chef seems to be stocking Tier III at Sanctuary Bay.
The big thing is what do you want to stock and what is needed in your neighborhood?

Also, be emotionally prepared for lack of sales until the confectionering changes happen. Carmo hasn't had a single sale yet, but I figure everything is there and ready if anyone does need it. (For that matter I've sold food first at New Brommel & then at New Trismus for over a year and I lose money every week; but the sales have slowly increased & I figure I'm doing it to help, not get rich.)

P.S. I heavily suggest if you do set out foods that need special bought components, charge at least what you paid for those components. Otherwise when it gets out about your extra cheap prices, you will be sold out, but much, much poorer. (Unless you are wonderously wealthy, then that would make a terrific way to get folk in your door!)

Well the plots in Selen Shore seem to be owned by high level people, one I am unsure of and I suspect may just doesn't play anymore because I don't recall the name. And I suppose it will probably be used by my lower level alts and others in the guild, at least until Ryver can get her lair done then I can probably keep it stocked. So yeah, I don't know. I guess it will depend on what the new foods are I suppose and I don't think I will be stocking it until then.

I have made the foods that require you to buy ingredients from the Vielo, mainly pumpkin pie. The only fall festival foods I can't make yet are the t5 ones, not at optimal anyway and there's no way I'm making them unless I am optimal. I have made most of the fall festival foods (excluding caramel apples, chocolate mice and spiders, I wish dead mice and spiders would drop!) and they sell pretty fast. My only problem is lack of storage so I hope Ryver will have a few rooms done in her lair before the revamp comes out but I'm not sure that's going to happen since I get distracted a lot Storage space is definitely something I am going to be needing.

There's a few taverns on the list I didn't get a chance to check on last night/early morning, but I hope to very soon! Sorry for only a partial update at this time. (A very dear friend is in ICU in the hospital due to a burst aneurism in his brain and so Herman & I haven't been able to be around as much. Our friend is doing quite well for how serious this is and most likely you'll be seeing us a lot more again in a few weeks.)

I also need to catch up with Chef to see if his tavern at Sanctuary Bay is still being stocked. It happened to be empty last night. I'll update that information when I catch him.

If I catch a little free time this week I also plan to start adding 5 & 6 min. Tier 3 foods at Mad Nellie's in Carmo.

Oh Yes! How could I forget?!! For you high level confectioners, the Mackeral have returned to the shores of Carmo & Tavu after over a year & a half absence!! Yea!!!!!

There is a new small tavern going up in Forest Guard. I don't have the coords written down but it is owned by Britt Namir (my other main character ), no catchy name for plot yet either. It is at 0% but I will be working on it asap. I am actually working on everything related to confectioner on the plot at the same time so I don't know when it will be completed but hopefully before the revamp is over. If I remember, I will get the coords tonight and edit this post with them.

A word on the ambrosia that is stocked: it is priced at 20 silver because I was originally hoping no one would buy it at that price because I had nowhere else to put it, but I don't care anymore if it gets sold so feel free to keep it listed. It was originally in a storage chamber in my lair but I had decided that my confectioner needed a plot more than I needed a lair, I didn't want to use up makalla's plot for her...felt bad about it even though she said it was ok. But I had nowhere to put the ambrosia so I put it in the tavern.

But now I don't care whether it is sold because ambrosia won't be worth keeping (to me) after the revamp as it will take twice as long to remove a death point with ambrosia than it will with food (ambrosia will remain as it is now, removes 8 hours off dp time, so it's only worth it to tier 1 players). Anyway, I'm done with rambling.
