Can't find Essiel

Help! I cannot find Essiel the Storm Disciple in Sslanis. I'm doing the Gregory tasks and am asked to find Essiel, but, when I search the map, it says there is nothing by that name, in both Sslanis and the whole of Istaria. Am I missing something? Is it a hidden person? Can someone give me a clue?

He is up on the hill next to the southwest wall. Basically face the Consigner building and look past it, behind to the right toward the wall. He should be standing just past the tree there as well.
