first group to battle him on Order went down to an AoE blight attack
named "Scorch" that hits for... get ready... 14,000 - 16,000+ per hit.

Maybe that reviled shield with the +300 blight ward on it isn't so 'decorative' after all...

Actually... the one group member who was using the shield...
got hit for 2000 more than everyone else...lol

Where was Fafnir located

right around where Daknor roamed actually... just a bit North.
There's newly blighted land, and a new blight shrine. Head for
that shrine and stage the battle from there.

Is Jatell or some other npc handing out an updated quest as an apparent invitation to such mass suicide?

Is daknor still ingame at all or are all the ppl that still needing hides gonna go without thier quest reward after all the work they've put into trying to get them?

The Blighted Hounds are Storm Disciples, and as such, use Unarmed
for their standard attacks, and also have access to nature stuns.

Fafnir is a blighted Storm Disciple... so he has a few extra tricks.
His AoE is called "Scorch" and hits for (from what I have witnessed)
anywhere between 14K and 20K blight damage. There is no defense
against it, aside from running out of range.

We were successful on our 3rd attempt at killing him. I'll post tactics once
others have had a chance to rumble with him ;-)

I will say the battle was somewhat reminiscent of the
"Howls in the Darkness" event waaaay back when...
when we peons battled the wolves invading Dalimond...
Fun stuff.

Maybe not an Omegaweapon as such then maybe Ultimaweapon :P but wot eva sounds like one cookie that needs cracked..all big mobs up to now need tactics valkor use dispell to avoid total wipeout reklar the primal thingy thingy, daknor heal, rez and hit now this one is a staregy yet to b mastered ;)

OUCH!! Does that means that they have stuns (have to have the Stormy's lightning claws active)???

Also, they probably have the Stormy's "Group Energize" Aura up as well.. so their attacks will have an automatic 15% delay reduction. Be glad they aren't buffed with Alacrity V.
