Well, I actually get to the 'blue sky' screen on Blight for a few seconds, then disconnected.

This issue should now be resolved with the client push to the Live Servers today. If this is not the case, please update your ticket with new information.

Thanks Rayem. I still can't log-in and I've sent you a copy of my logs per your request on my service ticket.

I've been trying (not constantly to be sure) to get in game since June 9th, and still no luck. The latest patch was supposted to resolve the issue, but now after the patcher runs, I get a black screen and it completely locks up my system now. Anyone else still having problems? Any suggestions? Seems CS takes about a week between replies on my customer service ticket.

    Mordoth,

What currently happens when you try to log in?

Well, since my last post, I forced another full scan and tried logging into Blight, I get to the screen that shows the current event info and it gets to 'looking up character stats' and eventually exits and I get the error ID 91 message. That's where it stands now, which is what it was doing back on june 9th. I was told in one of the responses from customer service that it was my sound card, then was told the 06-21-06 patch took care of those issues and I've not heard back since.

What sound card do you have? And have you tried disabling it and using your onboard sound? And yes, I realize this will require a reset after each session with HZ, but currently there's a bug with Audigy Soundblasters that's being worked out...

Still being worked out? I was told by Rayem via customer service that the 06-21-06 patch corrected those issues. I do have that sound card, Audigy 4. I'm not proficient enough really to disable all that, plus I'd have to re-do where my speakers are plugged in since the 'on-board' connections are different than the Audigy Sound Card plug-ins. I'd rather disable something in the game to work around this. Disabling my sound card is like crippling my computer.

PS...thanks for your replies and what the heck are you doing up so late? I have no life, so I have an excuse.

Ok. We know what your problem is and I'll get someone else more tech proficient to help you because even though I can disable my sound, explaining it is a WHOLE other issue.

The 6-21 patch was to fix the Xfire card issue. What wasn't known at the time was that there were BOTH Xfire AND Audigy issues. So, while he was correct in his statement because that's what was believed, it wasn't until several days of posts exactly like yours that indicated to us that there was another card that was having a problem with the new sound changes.

And it's not late where I am! Help on the way....

Okay, to disable your sound (Instructions for Windows XP and 2000 - if you're using something else, please let me know.):

Click Start, Control Panel. Find the System icon, and double-click it.

Click the Hardware tab, then the Device Manager button.

When the Device Manager loads, scroll to Sound, video and game controllers. Expand this.

Look for devices with "Audigy" in their name. For each one, click it, then click the disable button on the toolbar - see attachment).

If your onboard sound is listed as disabled (will have a cross over the icon, and the device will probably have "AC'97" in the name somewhere), re-enable it in the same way (disable toolbar button will change to an enable one, with a green check mark).

Then, just move the speaker cables to the on-board ports.

Well, thanks for the help and all, but I do other things with my computer, i.e. play other games and what-not. And although I would like to try playing Horizons again, I'm not really up for disabling my sound card to do so. That's like driving without my glasses on, or listening to a symphony with earplugs in.

Ok. Well, check back. A fix is coming.

And if you should decide you want to give it a try, we're here to help. We certainly don't recommend disabling your sound drivers permanently - it was a "while you were playing HZ only" fix.

Well, I was able to log into the game by disabling my sound card. Changing out my speakers to the on-board sound is not likely to happen, since it involves quite a lot of crawling around under the desk and all that. Hopefully the solution to the sound card problem won't be long in coming.

If you have an install CD for your soundcard, the drivers on it should allow you to play as well. The issue only occurs with the latest Creative drivers.
You're looking at now. Everything that happens now is happening now.

I'm so glad you decided to try. And I know they're working on it.

I got a reply to my customer service ticket today from Reyem that said iBill was doing maintenance tonight that should resolve this issue. That seems to me to be completely unrelated, since that's billing.

Any kind of ETA on the resolution for the problem with Audigy cards? Soundblaster Audigy is one of the biggest out there, and I'd imagine there are a lot of people having problems.

They start testing fixes this weekend...

That's not an ETA, just a status.

Just an update on the last thing I've tried....I tried installing older drivers, the oldest ones I found were from 09-2005 (since I purchased my Audigy back in April) and that didn't let me get logged in....sooooo hopin the fixes test ok. Istaria is just too weird w/o sound, need to hear the wind when you're flying.
