Ulaven the mage is in New Trismus. Right in town, in the big stone-walled court that has a lot of machines. He's next to the scholar's desk.

A gnomish house should not just sit there, it should definitely DO something!
if you recall to trismus (stand close to the bindspot) and then type:
/select Ulaven
He'd be selected now and the only thing you have to do is follow the blue arrow in the target window.
