I know I'm not the only person who included descriptions or bits of lore with their submissions; Ophelea removed the vast majority of them because of the sheer number of entries. Since it's unlikely any of these will appear in-game any time soon, I figure there's no harm in posting the descriptions that were omitted. If anyone else has descriptions that were removed from their entries, it would be great to see them as well.


Sugared Dates - Sugared dates are a popular light snack among the Saris. They provide a quick burst of energy which helps counter the lethargy brought on by Kion’s afternoon heat, and are an excellent non-perishable trail food.

Pickled Eggs - Pickled eggs are a common snack food among the Sslik. Some tribes traditionally let their eggs age in a leather satchel until they go rotten before pickling them, but even among Sslik this is something of an acquired taste.

Lokush - Lokush is a heavy, oily trail food traditionally carried by Sslik hunters. Raw gruok and bananas are pounded into a mash, moistened with fish oil, and rolled into small balls. The lokush is then dried in a low-heat oven for several days. Once dried, lokush can keep for up to three months.

Baked Eel - Baked eel is a dish normally served only on special occasions due to the work involved with preparing it. A whole eel, preferably still alive, is cleaned and then the body cavity is stuffed with rice, cranberries, and raisins, then sewn up, encased in clay, and placed into a carefully controlled fire for eight to twelve hours. After cooking, the clay shell is carefully removed, taking the skin with it. Among non-sslik, saris and dragons tend to like it much more than humans or dwarves do.

Forest Lord - Forest Lord is a stuffed roast arranged to resemble a miniature arbotus, complete with a layer of minced squirrel in the center. After roasting, a garnish of rosemary and sage is added to represent the arbotus’ foliage.

Kirasanct Caviar - It looks and tastes nothing like real caviar, but in frigid and land-locked Kirasanct, it’ll do. This is a popular side dish that traces its roots back to the Exile, when speed and simplicity of preparation were more important than taste. Fortunately, this dish excels in all three areas

Fiendish Potatoes - These fiery-hot potatoes help ward off the chill that pervades Kirasanct, and give the imbiber a lasting source of energy. Some fiends prefer theirs soaked in vinegar and then rolled in ground salt – kind of a bonus, one might say.

Shchi - Shchi is a thick and hearty fungus stew. It has the virtue of being equally good either hot or cold.

Vengeance Soup - The mixture of heat and bitterness characteristic of this soup is said to remind Fiends of the satisfaction that comes from revenge.
