The Fighting Irish football helmet is gold. Only gold.

It matches the golden dome the campus is known for.

Colors of the school: navy blue and gold.

Colors of the Irish: green.

How they figure it out so that their school flags are (1) blue with a gold overlapping ND and (2) green with a green dressed leprechaun with his fists up, I'll never know.

I'll stick with the cream and crimson (and not root for them).

Spaceballs was a parody of Star Wars. But did you know that according to IMBD that Bill Murray was once considered for the Han Solo role? If any of you saw Bill's classic SNL Nick the Lounge Singer skit where he added lyrics to the Star Wars theme.

Now, if you can imagine combining Nick and Han, you could imagine Bill as Han Solo singing "Starrr Warrrs! Nothing but Staaar Warrrs! Star Wars, they never end". That would be interesting.
