Either buy a boxed copy of the NA client - that way you'll get the appropriate CD key and 30 days trial playtime, or sign up for the 7 day trial and get a CD key that way.

many thx a last question but if i install the na version it dont mess up with the european version i have already installed?

I only have one copy of HZ installed, and when I play on an NA shard instead of Unity I just let it patch the game, then when I go back to Unity I let it patch the client back to the older version. Saves having more than one copy of HZ installed [:)]

As soon as all the main issues with Unity will be settled down (plots&auctions, community structures, servers stability and so on) we will be able to concentrate also on Festivals. At this point we need to put all the efforts on issues with higher priority.

Halloween did not start in America, it started right here in Europe. The origins of today's celebrations on October 31st and November 1st marked the beginning of the new year.
During this time, the crops were harvested to prepare food
for the long, dark winter.
October 31st also marked the eve of the ancient Celtic
festival of Samhain (pronounced sow-en). Samhain was a
joyful harvest festival that marked the death of the old
year and the beginning of a new one.

The Samhain festival marked the transition from life to death,
and because the lives of the Celts were deeply intertwined
with nature, the death of the world around them became
associated with human death. During this time, it was believed
that the veil between the worlds of the living and the dead
were thinnest, and the living were able to communicate with
their deceased loved ones. Of course, if the spirits were
able to travel between the worlds on Samhain, so too could
hostile spirits. To scare these bad spirits away, the Celts
carved faces into potatoes and turnips and lit them with
candles. They also dressed up in ghoulish costumes and
paraded around their neighborhoods.
The word Halloween actually has its origins in the
Catholic Church. In the 7th century the church celebrated
All Saints' Day in May, but by the 9th century the date
had been changed to November 1st. Another name for
All Saints' Day was All Hallows'Eve, which was later
shortened to Halloween. In the 10th century the
church named November 2nd as All Souls' Day in memory
of all dead souls. Halloween, All Saints' Day, and

All Souls' Day come so close together and are so similar
that in some countries they tend to merge together. Halloween didn't become widely celebrated in the
United States until the 1800s. Irish immigrants fleeing
their country's potato famine began settling in the U.S.,
and brought many of their customs with them. At the time,
the favorite pranks in New England included such benign
tricks as tipping over outhouses and unhinging fence gates.
Because the New World had an abundance of pumpkins, which
were more suitable as lanterns, they replaced turnips
and have become a major symbol of modern Halloween.
Trick or Treat
: The custom of trick-or-treating
is thought to have originated with a 9th century European
custom called "souling." On November 2nd, All Souls' Day,
early Christians would walk from village to village begging
for "soul cakes," made of square pieces of bread with currants.
The more soul cakes the beggars would receive, the more
prayers they would promise to say on behalf of the donors'
relatives who had passed away.
Bobbing for Apples
: When the Celts were absorbed
by the Roman Empire, many rituals of Roman origin began.
Among them was the worship of Pomona, the goddess of the harvest.
Pomona was often portrayed sitting on a basket of fruits and
flowers. Apples were the sacred fruit of the goddess, and many
games of divination involving them entered Samhain customs.
Jack-O-Lanterns
: Irish children used to carve out
potatoes and turnips and light them for their Halloween
gatherings. As legend has it, these "lanterns" commemorated
Jack, a shifty Irish villain so wicked that neither heaven
nor the Devil wanted him. Rejected by both the sacred and profane,
he wandered the world endlessly looking for a place to rest,
his only warmth a glittering candle in a rotten potato. Sorry, but had to point these facts out. [A]

Thankyou Luca for the reassurance that we will be getting the harvest event, and thankyou Nanain for that in-depth and refreshing coverage of Halloween, the harvest festival, and their origins [:)]

Much appreciated !

Nanain, very nice history lesson, quite enjoyed reading it
She heard Nanny say: 'Beats me why they're always putting invisible runes on their doors. I mean, you pays some wizard to put invisible runes on your door, and how do you know you've got value for money?'
She heard Granny say: 'No problem there. If you can't see 'em, you know you've got proper invisible runes.'

Have to agree that it is a nice story but for me, who is only grown up with Sweedish midsummer and Xmas and no form of Haloween customs at all, as all we do in Sweden during this weekend is to visit our families graves and put on some new flowers. So for me, byuing cheap Haloween masks, hats and stuff and get loaded or do Trick and Treat, feels very "Amarican". Its about forcing us to have a tradition we never had.

Dear Luca,

I have concerns that we will not see this event played out in its entirety, which would be a big shame. The event itself is a very community-enriching event that would do wonders for boosting the spirits of all players at this point in time. I have made some comments in a topic in the general forum (http://community.istaria.com/Web/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=20594#20594) regarding the possibility that if new patches arrive with a new event on the NA shards, we may never see this event.

I would be very grateful for some firmer details of when we can expect Jacques to appear in the racial cities, so that everyone will know when to take part in this thoroughly enjoyable event. We are already at the point where auctions are being won, and the festival structures can be added to plots, however this is a very minor part of the event overall.

I look forward to your feedback on this matter and of course I especially look forward to being able to enjoy this event with the wonderful community that exists on Unity [:)]

Thankyou for your time,

With kind regards,

Tzael.

As you know this event works better with plots, even if the proper time for the event is passed we should still be able to do it.

So if we don't get any patch (but shouldn't be the case because of running auctions) we might aim for this weekend.

Any update on this Luca?
Will it be going ahead this weekend and any details about what we can expect for the event other than the stuff already ingame?
