How very odd.... all my signs are in plain common.
Edit: are you sure it is not one of your mods?

Is an old bug. I don't recall how to fix it however.

At least I am not alone that has had it happen
The fourth symbol looks like a sideways "大" though...
Oh well, I have never payed much attention to the signs anyway.
If I'd have to guess, I'd say to try and enable decals in video options.
You're looking at now. Everything that happens now is happening now.

It's an old bug. Sometimes if you run out of range and then come back, it'll fix itself, but not always. I've noticed this problem a lot more lately though, so don't know if something changed to make it worse or not.
without setting your video to maximum...

Hmmm. Going to New Brommel? Looks like both left and right are the exact same place because of the exact same characters.

Oh and the characters were the same on every sign, no matter what they were for...
oops, yeah, forgot to mention it doesn't affect already loaded assets. :P you could have tried a /purgetextures if you just couldn't wait until your next port for the fix, but I can't remember if that command is available by default and I'm at work so I can't check. :P
The fix should stay in effect until the next time you save your gfx options.
Ah well, I remembered it being available in beta... but the /purge* commands are only really useful for testing asset changes without restarting.
Things that can be purged are ... Sectors, Models, Textures, Paths (filesystem), Characters, Sounds, Resources, and Terrain. /purgeall was a macro that just called all the other purge commands (except models for some reason) The commands take no params.
That *should* be enough to get you going.
I said that'd be enough to get you started (in writing your own command definitions) not that it would work without doing anything. :P
