Default BloodRed / Kkisanth's Short Biography

BloodRed was born as a single egg to a much larger female dragon of mostly the same description. The egg was pure black, sleek and could have possibly been mistaken for an obsidian relic of the half-human, half dragon barbarians and sat alone nestled in an empty room deep within Tor Darem, a once thriving city, now mangled and buried beneath the upper level. Dragon eggs didn't hatch for long periods of time in this world so it indeed could have been mistaken for a relic of somesort. But she was not alone entirely. She shared her thoughts and emotions with her only parent even as she developed inside an egg. Sometimes vague images of her mother's surroundings, such as a set of precious disks or corridors or flying high in the sky, but never quite able to communicate in this manner. She had been in her egg for quite some time, learning through her mothers eyes the betrayal and destruction by countless
    others.

It was through this vague sharing of thoughts that stirred her darker emotions and since the Black Dragon race was more sinister and unforgiving than the other races of dragon, it was natural she'd be born in this way, regardless of her mother. In this world there were races of good dragons the colours of metal like gold, silver, copper, brass, and bronze. The evil dragon races were some of the basic colours like red, blue, green, black, and white. Although the races weren't always "black and white", evil and good. A copper dragon would grow dark and selfish while a white dragon would show mercy and kindness.

One night, BloodRed still in her egg in a room with no light, felt a touch in her mind from her mother. She felt that her mother had come across a band of what people had called "heroes", or rather, they came across her in her main lair and she was very entertained. Colours like reds and crimsons and darkness flooded 'Reds mind in rapid jarring patterns. Her mother toyed with them, for it was her way. She had her claw against the chest of one of the weaker humans that was laying down beneath her, drawing blood from the puncture wound her claw made. The smell of blood made her tingle with excitment and pleasure and the emotions carried to the egg. Lighter tones of reds and purples burst softly through BloodRed's mind.

Within the egg, emotions stirred as the colours had. 'Red felt as her mother did, entertainment, excitment and also burning rage and destruction. It made her blood boil and she struggled against the shell so much that the egg toppled off the wooden perch. It cracked on one side when it hit the marbled floor and rolled to a stop. A spike adorning her nose-tip extended from the shell and pushed pieces away. Slowly the black hole in the obsidian egg became bigger as she pushed towards the opening. Her eyes shot wide and a red glow filled the immediate area. Mucus covered jaws split apart and she hissed at nothing in the quiet unlit room.

Suddenly, turmoil, pain and suffering blinded her vision for seconds as her mother was abruptly cut down. It was so sudden that its as if someone took paint cans and splashed dark reds and black paint across her mind like some abstract painting and then suddenly there was nothing. She did not see how, but there was no more emotions from her mother. Nothing. Her mother was simply gone or dead. She was no longer receiving anything.

She screeched, a horrifying and almost humanoid sound. She burst from the rest of the egg with a guttural growl, flapping wrinkly and wet wings, making such a fuss that some of the half-human, half-dragon creatures that inhabited the lair came to the door and opened it, peering inside. BloodRed turned sharply at the door, her maw opening wide and scrapping silver claws on marble, bolted straight towards the taller of the two. The only warning they got were two glowing red eyes headed in their direction. The door slammed and locked while she collided, to an abrupt halt against it, and screeched again. This time she felt something catch in the back of her throat and she hacked, acid coming forth and spilling against the wooden door. She tilted her head and examined the concentrated acid sizzling slowly at the door frame. After a calculating look, she took a deep breath, parted her jaws and hissed the breath weapon of the Black Dragon race. Acid melted away the door after a few seconds. The corners of her mouth curled upward in pleasure. She had seen her mother do it through vague images in her mind over the last century.

Her pleasant mood quickly turned to alarm as the very marbled ground she stood on began to shake violently. She staggered through the door on shakey legs and began her escape. Whatever had happened with her mother had shook the foundation of the already collapsed city and the upper rubble was threatening to crush the second level.

Sometime after her hatching and the city completely destroyed, food supply and weak young half-dragons started disappearing at the nearby camps the lesser race had erected. The mages of the half-dragons researched their magics. They were rushed to find the hatchling and be rid of her. Her mother had told very few that the egg actually existed and demanded they guard it in secret while she was in Tor Darem. The half-dragons were her slaves and she took advantage of it. Nobody would stand up to a thirtythree and a quarter meter, mature, female, Black Dragon with very few, but effective, tactical advantages in spell-wielding and combat. They did as they were told. Now with her mother gone, they could do what they willed with the Black dragon hatchling. So after weeks of searching, they found BloodRed again, brought her muzzled and bound against a board on a cart, back to the encampments. She had taken a liking to a nearby swamp and was relaxing in the mucky waters when she was spotted by a hunting party. She could not fly, her scales had hardened up, the membranes on her wings had stiffened to leather and the horn on her nose had fallen off. Its use was primarily for bursting from her eggshell anyway.

As she was brought before the half-dragon mages, they drew constellations and symbols along her scales and placed her bound body on the ground, covered in runes and a written language she had never learned. Her mother read books and such but the visual images were always too vague and she would never understand the concept of written languages at that time anyway.

"What are you called, worm?" The taller of the two Red Mages spoke to her now, glaring down at her with scaly lizard snouts.

~"I will take my mother's name.. since you let her die before she blessed me with one.."~ She hissed and lashed her tail violently, barely able to snap her bound maw before she settled down again. Although she was bound, it still pleased her to see them jump back a bit.

"Your mother wasss charged with protecting sssomething very preciousss. Ssshe failed and you are being sssent to a place far from usss, ssso there isss no chance we will be enssslaved once again. At least, thats what we're hoping will happen, ssshould thisss experiment succcceed. Another possssible outcome would be that you are irreparably mangled beyond recognition. Goodbye Kkisssanth."

She opened her eyes again and there were no half-dragons, nor any tents or camps. Everything was gone. Kkisanth then started her life in Arangoth. It didn't really bother her much, since she didn't know her homeland all that much either. She found another swamp and for many many centuries she grew and reigned down on many villages, farms and towns. She coined the nickname "BloodRed" from the patrons on the Black Dragon Inn. She was always seen tracking in blood from either her wounds or others, and then lapping the mess from her silver claws that reflected the Inn's warm fire from across the room, to the disgust of those around. Her eyes were also another reason why her nickname fit so well. They almost constantly glowed red, brightening the corner she always chose to sit in. She was not very large for a mature adult dragon, so she fit into the Inn easily. The door had been enlarged for ogres and werebeasts as well. The land was so full of oddities though, that seeing a dragon sitting in an Inn licking at bloody paws wasn't too uncommon of a sight. There were strange beings, such as talking foxes the size of a human hand, humans with feline paws, batwings and a long prehensile tail, vampires, succubus, extremely obese woman wrapped in sails from shipping boats. She could have fit in quite comfortably, but the flame inside her was destructive and it kept her from ever settling down. There was too much enjoyment in the chaos, disorder and confusion of others. Which brings us to current timeline.

Kkisanth awoke one morning confined and unable to breath, dark but warm. She struggled against a seemingly invisible barrier and with a crunch, broke through an opening in some hard canvas. She burst through the opening very confused and promptly fell on her head. She was so weak and to her surprise, she couldn't even walk properly and was covered in slime. Investigating her surroundings, through blurry eyes she managed to make out a shell and a nearby lava pool. With wild curiousity, her heart sunk further as she came to the realization of what she just did. She had hatched. For the second time of her life. For the next few minutes she struggled to walk and then run. She ran all over the place and reached out with her mind. Surprisingly there were several other beings around. Some more dragons and a feline that stood upright and spoke common. She was confused and enraged, tried to understand where she was, but fell back on her crutch that this was all a nightmare and she'd awaken from it. It was something she repeated a few times and by the tones of those around her, she wasn't dreaming. They started rambling on about needing help from others and something about "Rites" and glass vials and hoard value. Her head spun and the more confused she got, the more irate and angry she became.

She abandoned them and went searching for answers elsewhere for a few days. The Elders of the land seemed pressed to teach her the lore of the world, something she didn't want to hear at all. She wanted to know why she was here after spending centuries in Arangoth and how she could possibly get back.

Kkisanth came upon a pond and peered in. She was no longer the scarred mature adult female Black Dragon. In this land, she was a black dragon alright, but the colour meant nothing to the other dragons. They were bent on being divided by factions, not by colours. They did not have divisions of coloured dragons, each with their own characteristics. In this land, she had large red splotches on her black scales and appeared to be metallic. Her eyes were gold and shaped like hourglasses.

After a couple weeks of roaming the country and demanding to know anything from anybody, she finally accepted the fact that she was in yet another land and apparently starting from scratch. The bright fire that burned in her before still burned as brightly. There were as many pros, she decided, as there were cons to being here. The new body she occupied was not scarred, she was a complete stranger to everybody and once she was an adult again, she'd have a whole new land with different beasts and bipeds to terrorize.

For the time being, she could hunt without being hunted for now. She grinned and with heavy disappointment with having to start over, she wandered off in the direction of the swamp she had been pointed to.

Kkisanth "BloodRed" of Arangoth, and now of Istaria. Black Dragon.
    --------------------------------------------------

OOC: BloodRed is the MADE UP daughter from one of the dragons in the Dragonlance books, so I'm giving credit to where the area she came from. BloodRed never existed in those books, but I breathed some life into the possibility that she could have existed. The character is mine and the story I branch off the original books is mine. BloodRed has been a character I've been developing in a large continuity for several years now.

I also welcome roleplay with this character, for whatever reason you'd like to roleplay with an angry "evil" dragon. But please don't have your character have any knowledge of these events.
