What's with all the purple sandals?

I can see boots, etc. on my own feet, but if I look at some other player, I see a lot of purple sandals. At least the female ones have heels....

On that note, I've noticed also that if you swap armor (or unequip/equip), the armor does not show up unless you are scrolled all the way in. Anytime I do that and scroll back out, pieces of it disappear.

you need to have the "show all items on other characters" or whatever it is called option checked. Sandals and heals are the default 'not showing anything else' look.
