    Default Wisp colours

I can't be the only essence gatherer who wishes different tier wisps were different colours?

It's not the wisp itself usually - at least when you get close they have floaty names.. but the wisp essence on the ground..

Any chance for a future change that wisps could have a tint depending on their tier?

    dim - yellow
    pale - blue
    glowing - pink
    bright - green

oh you know what I mean

    Yes!!

Actually, it should be rather easy to do this as a mod, altering the tint files found in horizons\resources\textures\tints. I have no idea if this tint applies to wisps, residue or inventory icons, though, or any combination of them. (Easy to test, though.)

right.. the essence_bright.act etc files are the ones that colour the essence/orbs/spheres etc in your inventory, not the mobs.. (but looks great I may add!)

    \horizons\resources\textures\characters\mobilereso urces\wisp (space auto-added by silly forum)

Take a look at these. They're shader files - plain text. At first glance it looks like you can change the wisp's orb and internal glow independently, which would be rather neat.

aye, I saw that, however there's only the one file (well one for internal glow, and one for colour) - so if those files were changed, it'd change all of them, not just all pale wisps (for instance) or am I wrong?

(edited to say no I am wrong, there's one for each type, I had spotted similar files in another location).

    I'll play with these tomorrow..

    (5 mins later)

    ok, the files refer to/Horizons/resources/textures_agh/characters/mobileresources/wisp/com_resource_wisp_env_white.agh

I'm assuming that the .agh file has definitions in it defining a white wisp (and wisp essence).. BUT what can read a .agh file?

AGH are texture files. I poked around in the logs a bit, and noticed that all the residue are identical apart from the name, so we will have no success altering them. I managed to get the wisps themselves to change colour though, but since the residue was the primary objective, I had to take a different approach:

If you'd still want the wisps (and only the wisps) coloured, however, that can be done.

wisps of different colours would also be cool. I'm reasonably ok with altering files, any chance of a PM to let me know how to do this? (or post here, I'm easy either way).

That way we can pick own colours...

Your mod for the floaty names is a great fix.

ok, I've uploaded a mod to the player customization forum.. Wisps are now a different colour depending on their tier.
Tier 1 - dim - yellow (wisps, gathered essence, orbs, construction items)
Tier 2 - pale - blue (wisps, gathered essence, orbs, construction items)
Tier 3 - glowing - red (wisps, gathered essence, orbs, construction items)
Tier 4 - bright - red outside, yellow sparkle (wisps only)
Tier 5 - shining - yellow outside, blue sparkle (wisps only)
Tier 6 - radiant - blue outside, red sparkle (wisps only)
