problems with talking to npc's

i am at my wits end here.everytime i try to talk to a npc it just waves at me.
even when the npc has a bubble above it's head i clickon the npc and right click to greet and even when i have done a quest i go to npc and greet to speak to it and get reward it just give sme reward.
what is wrong is it just a bug or am i doing something wrong.

ps i am a the trail version does that have anything to do with

I think it has something to do with the settings of your chatwindow. You should have at least one set at tell - if my memory serves me right

Correct. This is somewhat of a bug. If the chat is not going through to your tell window, open a new chat window, "h" I think. Then the NPC's speech will show up in the new window.
