Where to start?

Which town is the best for an aspiring Alchemist? I am looking for one with all the equipment like SSlanis, but near some resources...

You might give Parsinia a try. I believe it has all the necessary machinery and a vault. Not sure how the resources are arrange around it since the merge, though. You may want to gather glass nodules from the crater SW of Tazoon wherever you set up. One trip out there for a pack full of glass will put you in vials for some time.

The only alchy trainer in the universe is in Sslanis. All necessary equipment is in the city, the millstone to grind gems is in the Confectioner's shop, and a well just outside froom the vault.
Wisps, sandstone (to make sand to make vials), gems, wood, & metal ore are all on the island. The only reason to leave is when you make lvl 20.

Not so. There is also an Alchemist trainer in Tazoon in the same building as the Spellcrafter trainer. SW side of the city.
