It fills the tool-slot. I have a dim-crystal of the kind, would love a better one, though allready quite happy I got this one (gnomekindle-event, parcels)!
(Dim gives +5 to speed btw)

Dim gives only +3, I belive.
Pale is +5.

They are equivilent to the same tier of Gift of Speed +1.
They really came into more usefulness after the cargo disk speed revamp.

I 'think' that I've seen a Glowing, but not sure.
I've never seen a Bright or Shining, not sure those even existed.
