Did you say treasure chests? Yes! With the arrival of the Blighted Labyrinth, Istaria will finally have treasure chests. We thought we'd take a moment to tell you about them and how they work. Chests come in many varieties, from the common cedar chest to the Rare Enchanted Thornwood Chest or the Adamantium Chest. Chests come in many varieties and materials, including different types of wood, metal and even stone.

Like chests and other locked containers in the real world, treasure chests in Istaria require a key to be unlocked. Keys as well as chests will come in two varieties, non-magical and magical. Each requires the use of its respective key. But where do the keys come from, you're probably wondering? Easy! They come from the Gifted! Yes, Tinkerers will be in high demand once the Labyrinth arrives, because keys require the expert knowledge of a Tinkerer to create. Key making will be a highly complex process and so we've decided to give you a bit of a sneak peek and detail the process for creating an adamantium Key, which you may find a need for in the Labyrinth.

Adamantium Key
Skill: Tinkering (1100 to 1425 skill)
Tool: Smelting Tongs
Machine: Smelter
Resources Required: Adamantium Bars, Complex Key Mold

Complex Key Mold
Skill: Earthencraft (1100 to 1400)
Tool: Clay Scoop
Machine: Pottery Wheel & Kiln
Resources Required: Geostone, Complex Key Pattern

Well, there you have it. The patterns, incidentally, are purchased from a vendor for a nominal fee. This sneak peek shows you what's involved with creating a standard non-magical key, but players will have the more complex and rare magical keys to look forward to as well as the ultra-rare skeleton key that can open any chest in the game.

We've uploaded some previews of the icons to the Art Preview section.
