This was mostly an exercise to see how difficult it would be to make a howto video and how useful the end result would be. Cleaning up my system so that it vaguely resembled a default Windows installation was the hardest part.

As for software:
- Fraps for 3D recording.
- CamStudio for 2D recording. (CamStudio can record 3D too, though the way it records results in jerky video -- worse than Fraps)
- Audacity for audio recording.
- Adobe Premiere for assembly. (I'm looking for an alternative NLE and would appreciate suggestions)
- VirtualDub for final compression.
