New error/bug for XP users?

Recently been seeing a new error. "Istaria.exe has encountered a problem and must close..." 3 times so far.
Yesterday, I asked other guild members and friends about it and of the 6 ppl I asked all using XP all of them have seen this new error. Been happening since the new Vista fix.
Has others seen it?

Does the client generate a .maura file when crashing?

Also, when does this error pop up? Only when loading or while playing too?

I got it just yesterday when I tried to open the Player Search window. Ususally get the error at seemingly random times during play.

When the client crashes, it will write out a file that ends in ".maura" in the logs directory. That file is merely a text file, however, it may (well, it's supposed to) contain debugging information that indicates where inthe crash happened in the client.

I too have gotten the crash described here, but only once, and I have not been able to reproduce it.

In order to fix a crash, its location in the program (and sometimes the input that causes it) need to be determined first. The debugging information in the .maura file can help, and figuring out how to reproduce the crash definitely helps.

ALL THE TIME! At least every hour and whenever I port to, from or around Delgarath or Bris. I can't get a decent enough playtime in.

Got this as well. Cant really get the hang of it when it happens, it seems to be random so far.

the last few only have "Successfully started crash log at .." with date and time. I assume it didn't go further cause I logged out instead of waiting for the full crash.

You died in.." then a bunch of numbers and letters for several lines.

Funny it says I died but I didn't. Either the game crashed or I logged out.

Yep, that's the useful stuff! (Especially the part starting with "You died in...")

The "died" part refers to the program, not your character in game.

- You are playing with the loading screen on.
- Sound stops working when the "Istaria.exe as encountered an error" dialog pops up.

I play in windowed mode, so not minimized. I DO alt-tab regularly and this does not seem to affect it. Like Dakoren said, it is quite random.

No. Sound and music still works.

Hmmm... difficult to say. I would say no. Sometimes the crashes start when I am standing stil doing nothing, Sometimes they are when I am porting/about to port so new music upon porting.

No, I play in window mode. Always occured as I'm playing.

Yes, load screen is on.

Dont know, don't have the music on. Ambient sound doesn't stop.

1 time I recall, I was in Delgarat and was walking toward the tport gate when I got the Error message. Wasn't flying, wasn't that many ppl around. didn't have any in game windows open.

Never really notice, but I say no

I don't think so. With exception of the battle music, all my sound is enabled as well as my music.

I notice that everyone who responded so far has the loading screen off. Does turning on the loading screen reduce or eliminate the crashes?
