Feathers!

I really hate it when my bird goes into molt. I got feathers everywhere now. Can't seem to keep them cleaned up. I sweep and she preens and in an hour it does not look like I cleaned up for a week. As I type, she is sitting on the arm of my chair preening and there are 8 body feathers visible on the arm or floor. Is hard to believe that a bird of her size could create so many darn feathers!

Oh the joys of the bi-seasonal bird molting. Feathers... EVERYWHERE! And I have a cockatiel too so she gets feather dust and fluff everywhere to boot.

Oh and aren't they just so cute and cuddly when they're molting too? (For non bird owners: They're grumpy. Its like teething for a kid.)

Aye. Mine is a blue crown conure and she has a beak that can hurt if she gets annoyed enough. She wants to be scratched but hit one of those growing feathers and watch out. She is a grumpy, irritable bird to begin with but adding molting into it just cranks her grouch level up a few notches.
