Thread: Calculating Rating

    Default Calculating Rating

Because my Search-function-fu is weak: does anyone know the way to calculate a character's rating? I know the basics-- the more schools you have and the higher they are, the higher your rating gets from your current level-- but a more precise function/equation would be nice for purposes of figuring out how much I can pad secondary schools without skyrocketing my rating.

    or for the excel enthusiasts:

    =SQRT(G14*G14+G15*G15/4+G16*G16/4+G17*G17/4+ G18*G18/4+G19*G19/4+G20*G20/4+G21*G21/4+G22*G22/4)

where G14 is the current school, and G15-G22 are additional schools.

Good for making sure you can't get kill xp? :P

There isn't a direct benefit to having a high rating, that I know of. It's just a side-effect of having a whole lot of multiclassing. If anything, it's a mechanic to slow down multiclassing so that getting level 100 in every school isn't just a "yeah why not" proposition-- imagine how many more uberpeds there would be if getting the 20th level 100 class were as easy as getting the first.
