Over the years, one of the areas the design team can speak with pride is of our player base and the unique contributions they make to the game. We've all seen the dedication our players have to Istaria exemplified in the creation of game mods, art work, and stories contributed to contests, as well as, postings on the forums. We'd like to see that dedication have a more lasting effect on the world of Istaria itself.

One of the projects that has come out of the loot revamp is a need for story-based items that players can collect pieces of which then lead to a whole item that provides a reward. But to place these in game, we need the stories. So we're calling on you, our storytellers, to assist us in adding to the stories of Istaria.

We're looking for stories that would be "racial stories" for this first round of tales. Every culture has it's own set of tales, and we know Istaria is no exception. So if you're interested in telling the tale of your character's great-great-great grandmother who long ago helped establish a community on the island of wherever, now is your chance. If you have written and posted a story here on the forums, or another website, and would like us to consider it for this as well, please let us know about it.

Just a few brief notes to be aware of... as these will be stories told in game, they will become part of Istaria's official lore, so we will consider each story in the context of whether it fits with already established lore. Stories will be told via the quest interface, and so the author should consider this when submitting the story. Make sure the length is something you think players would want to read while in game. We're not imposing any limits on the length of the story, but want story length and how it would be presented to be something authors are aware of.

You can submit your story to us via the support system (support.istaria.com) under the Stories department. Someone will acknowledge the receipt of the story and we’ll be in touch if there are revisions we’d like to discuss, or get your approval on edits. Please also understand that we’ll be releasing these as part of our normal delta process and there’s some work involved to get your story into the world. All submissions become the property of Virtrium, LLC and all that usual legal mumbo jumbo associated to submissions. As this is not a contest, there's no deadline for submissions either, and new stories will be accepted indefinitely.

As always, we appreciate the time and effort our players place into making an Istaria a better world for everyone to enjoy.
