I love the story and the scene to go with it. :-)
You really captured the craggy landscape wonderfully; I particularly love the way the fog pools between the ridges. Nice mirror effect in the axes, too. :-) Your eye for fashions is also terrific - where can I get one of those tunics with the rampant dragon on the back?

I think I'm too accustomed to seeing heavier-set (wider) dwarves in taverns than slim hardworking ones - I did not realize they were dwarves until I read the story. Perhaps something to give size perspective in the forefront of the picture would make it more clear at a glance?

Anyway, like all of your work, I love it. Thank you for sharing once again! :-)

Ahhh, so many trees; so little time! You're work continues to impress, Gengel; it just keeps getting better and better.

I pretty much agree with all that has aleady been said. FWIW, I thought that the two men were dwarfs when I first saw the picture and before I had read the accompanying text. Not sure why now (in light of Awdz's comments) ... maybe it is their size in relation to the axes that made me think so? After a second look, I think I tend to agree with Awdz.

Edit: Upon further review, I think I thought those men were dwarves simply *because* they were carrying axes ... to me, that's a very "dwarf" thing to do
