Red face Help with Melee set-up?

(Didnt know if this would go in Help or Dragons so.. sorry )
    Hello All,

I was just wondering if maybe some fellow istarians could help me out? =)

My Gold rage is hitting for a total of 300 Slash Damage on average for most mobs, which compared to others who are hitting 500 to 700 per strike. My other attacks as far as they go are also pretty down in the dumps. They seem to be pretty pathetic. (idk cause I didn’t notice till now) O-o

I am an Ancient (lvl 100) Lunus, without buffs my stats are:

    Health: 2976 ( 134 Tp’s)
    Strength: 1211 ( 284 Tp’s)
    Power: 929 ( 176 Tp’s)
    T & C: 1467 ( 285 Tp’s)
    Dexterity: 758 ( 112 Tp’s)
    Focus: 852( 8 Tp’s)

    Scales Are all like this:

Lvl 80 Mithril- Marble Armor, Strength V, T & Claw V, Dragon Breath V Techs.
(Chest is lvl 80 Armor chest scale of Eminence)

Claw: Triple Socketed Spiked Emerald, Crystals: Fangs of Fury, + 150 Health Crystal, Corrosion VI.

    But getting to the point...
--> I would like to have a (*much*) stronger hitting Melee Dragon, but I have shifted around my Tp’s without any luck. Would anyone be willing to show me a good set-up(Tp's, Claw and scales)? D:

These are the stats and skills that affect melee damage as a dragon

    1. Strength
    2. Tooth & Claw
    3. Deadly V (best out of the tech kits) for delay adjusted damage bonus

If you wanted to go for maximum melee damage then it would be strength scales.

If not either armor or health scales.

Also use +65 strength crystals in both forelegs and head socket

If you have a lasting embers crystal unsocket it and put a better crystal in its place (+150 health crystal etc)

The corrosion crystal i don't think is the best one, you need one that does direct dot damage (like a lacerating or bludeoning one)

Dexterity does not directly affect melee damage (it adds a minor bonus of 10% to tooth&claw therefore 100 extra dex would add 10 points of T&C). Your are most effective putting training points into T&C, and then if there are any leftover scales slots put dexterity.

Razor Teeth V might also increase melee damage but im not 100% sure on this tech kit.

Edit: Switch your chest scale to a PV/Eminence/Vital Defiance combo

take all your tp's out of strength, power, focus, dex. Max out t&c. then split the rest among primal, health, evasion.

Scales look ok mostly, but you'll want Razor Teeth on the head + 2 sockets (use +33 T&c crystal and a +150 hp crystal), put piercing winds, t&c, str on wings (make a second set with t&c, velocity, speed for travel. Use a hotkey to toggle them. Good idea to dye the sets different colors so you can tell at a glance what set is on).

Claw needs either Deadly V or Battle Forged V + 2 sockets. Use fangs of fury + your choice for the crystals.

I have been playing around with TP’s as well for a while now.
Right now I have TnC maxed (600 tp), strength (480 tp) and dexterity (120 tp).
The most important change you must make is maxing out TnC (600 tp).
What you do after that is up to you mostly, was thinking about doing 300/300 Strength/Power for crafting purposes. Also intend on trying to increase my Evasion curious about that as well. So much to try… So few buyback points.

Don’t forget crystals like Chasing and Guaran said, and don’t forget the Saris Stone of Friendship used in Forleg or chest giving 250 Ethereal Armor and 175 Health from a quest at the blackhammer farm.

The scales depend on your personal play style to have Strength/Armor or Health scales. Using TnC V as tech on it is important.
I myself have been using Health scales with Armor V, TnC V and Strength V and no double set for the wing scales but only Velocity V, Speed V and Piercing Wind V.
Using a claw with Deadly V and 2 sockets or Deadly V, 1 socket and Rune of Flame techkit.

my build is VERY, VERY, VERY simple:
    training points:
    99% strenght (on bar)
    99% on health (on bar)
and the rest spread out a little, can't login atm to check them.

also, crystals, cryyyystaaaaals, crystals are VERY important, I think meepsa is loaded with crystals, so much that her current health is around 4000 when buffed with true grit

Yeah I actually have 0 tp's in health myself.

Get primal to about 1050, then put all the rest in evasion.

For health, use +150 crystals in forlegs and head. (one of them being the saris friendship stone).

One last thing I forgot to mention, on your forlegs try going t&c V + 2 sockets. Thats 50 extra t&c which can help against high evasion mobs like spiders or blight/frost hounds. for the crystals use health/saris for one, and then strength or a resist/ward crystal for the second. Keep a set of 2 of each type of radiant resist crystals on hand, and change those out as needed.

Tried it and found it lacking in comparison to a Regular Claw with Deadly V tech. Armor Shred is cool in group fights when it activates and a full group is hitting a mob that suddenly has only armor 0, but the time is much to short for 1on1 fights.

    I agree Rv.

Is not Demonclaw bugged anyway? I remember someone say so,
and I haven`t seen armorshreds for quite a while.

last time I checked nothing was wrong with Demonclaw, but that was a while ago.

I agree that a demonclaw is close to nothing compared to a regular crafted claw (especially if you're lucky enough to get a dcom)
my current claw: socketed battle-scarred spiked emerald claw, in the sockets: fangs of fury and dcom, used to have a socketed spiked emerald claw of flame (which liked to change it name randomly), but yeah, rune of flame isnt as usefull anymore

Demon Claw is useful in group situations against an epic. I don't use it except for that

Tagath's got a crush claw he uses for golems, beetles, and other hardened nasties.

    Ummmm...what's dcom?

Dim crystal of might, if I remember the name right...

It's that broken crystal from way back that procs on every hit for extra nature damage and scales... Has a cool lightening effect too.

I sold one of my two some years ago on Order, to an entire guild, for something like 250 gold... It's awesome for alts as it pretty much lets you 2-shot anything your level that doesn't have a name associated with it.

I consider it an exploit, so I don't use it.

It's not a broken crystal, it was put in on purpose. Only came from gnomekindle presents. It's pretty rare.

Rhezara, have you moved any tp's yet?
