    Default Dragon Uniqueness

Today I was thinking of my training point allocation, and what spells I wanted to be able to use when I get older. This gave me an idea to aid in making dragons more unique. For Tier VI (or higher when they are released), it would be interesting if dragons had another hard choice to make after RoP.

If a dragon were to put Many points into either T&C or Primal, they would be granted use of high level items. Those who did Primal could be given a quest to get an Epic Primal spell, those who choose T&C could be offered a quest for an Epic Weapon ( for the in-development claw slot? ). You would not be able to do both since you would need too many points to go into both.

I dont know where this would leave the dragons who choose other stats to raise such as health/evade/dex. Need some ideas for something special to them. Perhaps special scales?

    What 'ya think?

Bonus for high T&C or Primal sounds good but I agree that those who chose to distribute their points differentlywould be NOT be very happy and they'd have a right to be angry. Because of that it should be done differently. Perhaps the Lunus AROP could award a really good melee skill and the Helian AROP could award a really good casting skill regardless of skill level (assuming it's high enough to do the AROP). Perhaps both would award a big boost to breath weapon so that the dragon breath weapon finally becomes the powerful attack it is in so much of fantasy.

It would be nice if ancient dragons got enough extras to put them on the high end of the curve compared to bipeds. Not head and shoulders beyond what any biped could dream of, just the leading edge of the curve. Especially if some of the requirements would prevent powerleveling to ancient in a short period of time (such as a real world time requirement). Then ancient becomes a reward for long work and something to look forward to.

An epic spell for helians and epic style attack for lunus would be neat indeed. And possibly TC/Primal reqs for certain crystals goin into those claw slots would be an idea as well.

Where did you hear that? If you heard it from another player then it doesn't count.

People have been making stuff up.

I think that even as adult there should be another ability in terms of spells for Helians or Melee attacks for Lunus, apart from a second breath weapon that has a simular regeneration rate as normal Breath of fire...
Which is far to long wait for such a weak ability (Breath of Fire is weak, the other I dont get yet as a hatchy)...
Breath of Fire does less damage then then my Tail whip... kinda strange dont you guys think?

For RoP and ARoP both several new fast regerating attacks (maybe same regen. time as tailwhip)and seperate attacks for both Helian and Lunus, but personally I am more interested in seeing the spell casters and melee fighters as seperate schools in 1 unified dragon race...

(Disclaimer: I'm new to dragons... only been playing one for about a week.)

I've got an idea for the Helian side...

How about giving each Helian, upon completion of the ARoP, a choice between a list of magic skills (Flame, Ice, Energy, Spirit, Life, etc.), and give them that skill at, say, 7 points per level (retroactive). This would open up a whole new line of spells to use and provide for some distinction between dragons while maintaining the general theme of spellcasting specialists. Alternatively, they could stick with Primal and simply get another boost to the skill and perhaps another perk.

This could also be tied into the breath weapon, perhaps changing the damage type and adding some sort of effect appropriate to the specialization (perhaps giving a 'Rejuvenating Breath' to those who choose the Life path).

I really like the idea of unlocking another magic school for Ancient Helian. Oh course mine would be life, so I would be useful in a group fight and have some decent healing. Problem is, there is nothing comparable for a Lunus to get.

As to Epic Melee, will never happen. Take in to consideration that if Gold rage follows the other abilities there are potentially another 3-5 level of Gold Rage to come. Even at level 7 as it stands now it is doing AWESOME damage.

I think many would choose life Garerath...
That is the 1 and true thing that I as a solo-melee fighting dragon would choose!!! [H]
